Check the following to address this issue further.

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer or Control board
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Error code E:21on a Bosch Axxis front loader washer

Error code E:21 on a Bosch Axxis front loader washer indicates a draining problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the drain hose for clogs or kinks. Straighten out any kinks and remove any clogs.
  2. Check the drain pump for obstructions. The pump is located at the bottom of the machine. Clear any obstructions from the pump.
  3. Check the filter for debris. The filter is located behind the front panel of the machine. Clean out any debris from the filter.
  4. Check the drain pump for proper functioning. Test the pump by running a cycle with an empty drum. If the pump is not functioning properly, it may need to be replaced.
If these steps do not solve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a professional repair service for further assistance.

Not draining properly (very slowly, causes error code). drain hose outside of washer is properly connected, no kinks, no obstructions. Error code "04" comes up repeatidly. After it finally drained we ran a...

The3 problem is more likely to be in the pump itself. No diagnostic except what you have jsut described. Open the outside covers and access the hose to and from the pump. More liokely on the inlet side and check the hose and the pump entry hole.

Water in the bottom and not working

Check for a clogged drain (e.g.: via drain hose), or a water pump malfunction due to foreign obstruction (e.g.: glass, etc).

Note: If you changed a food waste disposer (kitchen sink area) and did not remove "plug" from disposer for dishwasher drain hose (assuming dishwasher drain hose connected to food waste disposer), then water cannot drain from dishwasher.

you have a blockage some where in the drain hose.most likely in the hose the comes form the bottom of the tub to the pump.you attach a wet dry shop vac to the end of the drain hose and remove the water this way while the vaccum is working look at the hose that comes form the tub to the pump and if it colapses then there is something restricting the water flow.also make sure to check in side the drain pump cover for any thing that is obstructing the pump

I have a bosch dishwasher mod. SHU43. It will not drain. I have checked the drain hose for obstruction. ?????????????????

Remove the cover below the door and carefully look inside. You will see that the drain hose is connected to a small pump. That pump may have an obstruction in it such as a little piece of glass. Unscrew it from the frame so you can check it carefully. good luck.

If there is no obstruction the pump may not be turning on. To check that you will have to run the dishwasher and listen for the pump to come on. If it doesnt come on you will have to replace it.

Bosch SHY56A05UC/14

There is a pass through the lower back side of the dishwasher that also has a restraining device to prevent drain hose from being pulled off of drain pump. After passing hose through this opening, connect hose to drain pump. Note: there is another restraining device built into lower plastic housing which has a finger notch to accept hose and keeps the drain hose engaged in to drain pump by not allowing hose to back out of drain pump/ hose interface.
