I have a ws55819 mitsubushi rptv that has a forever blinking power light issue. i can not establish a sequence (code)with it and will not power up and makes no sounds. i unpluged it to reset to no avail. it has suffered no surge to my knowledge and has been on the same protection equipment as the rest of my gear. any feedback as to coarse of action to heal this beast at home?
If it is a steady blink then it will be something with the microprocessor not resetting. That set does give fault codes by blinking in a pattern, like two blinks then a pause then three blinks.
It can be a little tricky to troubleshoot, I think that set has a micro, two eproms and another IC that they called a watchdog which has a lot to do with the micro and preventing it from locking up. It may also be a power supply problem not supplying proper power to the micro. I'd try a few more unplugs and maybe plug direct to outlet and bypass surge protector. If it won't reset you'll need someone familiar with that set to service it for you.
The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:
"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.
"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.
"22" ... Short Protect circuit.
"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.
"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.
you will have to count the blinks, then there is a short pause and then following a second set of blinks this tells what is wrong with set.
