Is the dryer gas or electric? But you can also try cleaning the vent tube the pipe that goes outside also the pipe that goes into the dryer it's a good chance it's full of lint.

Heat only works while driving. no heat at idle. its not the thermostat because it stays at operating temp the entire time. it wont overheat

a great fail, only parked it fails, far better than opposite.?
the core, the heater core must be hot , or it wont work.
so there can only be these fails (fan works)
1: core blockage, (might work at fast rpm, and not slow)
ever do a 2year full flush? a full coolant service ?
1a; Put hands on core tubes. both hot>? (IR gun)
if one is cold?, then it is and is blocked. (find cause)
if both are hot ?, I use a dirt cheap IR pypro gun, point and shoot $15?
both hot is good. it has flow, if restricted, 1 will be way cooler.
i see the ,an no burned fingers.
so if the 2 tubes to the core are hot say about 170f?
then the dampers are closed
if closed its bad controls.
with my heater on full (all new parts) i get 10 degree drop
in temperatures at the 2 core tubes. this drop is the heat used
for the cab. see?

easy peasy cheezy?

My kenmore 750 series gas dryer wont heat

Here is the problem I think you have. Weak aged solenoids.
If a dryer produces some heat then their are 2 scenarios. It is clogged with lint, or the gas operator solenoids are getting hot and failing. Here is 2 of my home made videos. One shows basically before and after clean up and the other shows how to check and replace them coils:

Microwave wont heat up

Your signs point to a failed power tube. First though, does it defrost? If it does it is an electrical control problem. If it does not defrost, do the following.... With the power unpluged you may want to remove the outer cover, ( screws at back ), and locate a shiney metal box. That box is shielding for the power tube. Get the part # from the tube and replace. You could check price and availability at www.avnet.com . Make sure you replace all of the shielding exactly the way you found it. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

Microwave wont heat food. Everything else works.

Micorwave doesn't work when the megatron tube is out. That's probably why it won't heat up. Either replace microwave or the tube. You can get the number from Sears for the megatron tube by calling customer support.

WONT HEAT, DRYER WILL TURN BUT WONT HEAT UP.

Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil.
If you plan to try to repair the problem yourself, then the first thing you want to do is unplug the dryer from the electric.
Remove the back of the machine and try to locate the air tube going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside the air tube you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor.
Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause a fire, as you have removed the saftey of overheat from the machine.
Good Luck,
Hope this helps

My dryer wont heat

Sounds like your problem may be the heating element.
Remove the panel from the back of the machine and try to locate the air tube that goes from the blower to the drum.
The heating element is normally inside there.
I hope this helps

Wont aswitch off defrost mode for anything, wont switch to vent or heater

you have the exact same problem i did. there's vacuum tubes behind the control panel (if i remember correctly the tube i had was black) and it will most likely be hiding down in your mess of wires as mine was, and you'll either need to photograph the tube and the vacuum connection hub and i'll walk you through what to do with it, or you can buy the haynes jeep manual for your specific year and style and it will be under cooling, heating and air conditioning systems (3-13) if you get the 1993 thru 2004 manual.
