First you have to have a volt ohm meter.
next you touch your leads to each switch with the power on. When you come to a switch that gives you a reading that's the open one. Sometimes there is a Manuel reset which will be a stem sticking out of the center of the switch, press it in. If this switch is by the flue, keep an eye on it. This is a high temperature switch in any case. If it is a lower one by the flamewatch the flame as it burns. Any fluctuation in flame could mean a gas pressure problem, a flue tripping switch could be anything from wasps nest in top of flue to a flue that has come apart. Once you find out which one of the switches is open watch it very carefully, especially how it senses over temp. After watching it, if it happens again calling a local service shop is my recommendation. Because there are too many variables than can cause one of these to trip.
Hi there. Flames rolling back instead of shooting inside the fire tubes can be a result of clogged fire tubes or air entering the flue, also check if there are objects blocking the flue. Regards.
check to see that your condensate line is not plugged. next check the p-trap where your line goes in. also check your flue abs flue pipe see as it comes out of roof is it open or does it have an elbow coming off of it i usually install with elbow preferably less water goes in the units resevoir hope that helps u
you do not say if it is a conventional flue or balanced flue model. If it is a conventional flue you cannot just buy a thermocouple. It is integral with the pilot assembley and must not be tampered with. This is an ODS safety device. The problem might not be with the thermocouple as there are other components on the circuit.
Take notice of the wind conditions when it goes out. If there is a draft, the wind can come in the room with the water heat from the flue and blow it out. Or it can come in the room from another way and exit from the flue and blow it out.
try looking at the air filter see if this is blocked, reset overheat button press red top check if fan on the flue is running , check if flame senser is clean or conection is loose , see if that helps
Hi there. When calling for cold, flame should be large and blue. If orange, clean mixing tube, flue, chimney. If still orange, adjust "air" inlet on mixing tube to get blue flame. Thanks Paul
