The stitches on the bottom of my work loops and is very messy. It makes no difference after a good clean out or when adjusting the tension on the screen. It mainly happens when I am sewing through two layers of cotton and bias binding. Any help greatly appreciated, many thanks.
Could be several things.
First, install a brand new needle, perhaps a top-stitch needle will work better because it has a groove in the shaft that protects the thread. Make sure the needle is the appropriate size for the thread you are using--a needle eye that is too small will cause the thread to hang or shred. When the needle penetrates the sandwich, the top thread forms a loop. If the eye is too small, the thread will not come back up through the sandwich, leaving a loop under the fabric.
Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Set the top tension to the midway point and retest your machine on a quilt sandwich made of the same fabric layers as your project.. Tension problems are more evident when sewing multiple layers of fabric, so tweak the tension until the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the sandwich.
I don't believe you will have to adjust the bobbin tension, but in case you do, be very careful. Mark the tension screw setting FIRST so you can reverse any changes you make. Bobbin adjustments are made in very SMALL increments. Because I tend to use a lighter weight thread for my quilting, I have a specific bobbin case that is adjusted for my quilt thread and I keep my other bobbin for regular sewing. Then I don't have to keep adjusting the bobbin tension when going from sewing a quilt to something else.
Some machines do better with certain brands of threads than others.

it sounds like your bobbin tension is too tight. to adjust bobbin tension, remove bobbin case (remove needle plate first) and adjust bobbin tension screw on side of case until bobbin thread has a slight resistance as you pull it through the bobbin case.
this will be trial and error until you get best result. you should always try and match top and bottom threads. if the top thread is quite thick you may have continue to increase needle thread tension until balanced.

The overload message is usuall due to a bind in the mechanical function of the machine. When the motor has an extra "load" caused by something like a tight belt or dry bearing, it "overloads" the motor and the error message is displayed. It is doubtful your problem is computer related. Either way a trip to your service tech is required. If you continue to sew with it, you do run the risk of possible damage to some other parts of your machine. The computer portion of your Husqvarna is guaranteed for 5 years and the mechanical parts carry a 20 or 25 year guarantee depending on when you purchased your machine. A copy of your bill of sale from a Husqvarna Viking dealer or a stamped warranty card is the proof of purchase needed to obtain warranty replacement of parts. Labor is only guaranteed for 1 year.

It sounds like one of your clearances in the machine is off. When a machine skips stitches like yours is doing, it does so because the hook responsible for "catching" the thread from the needle is not close enough to the needle so it misses the loop of thread from the needle. If your machine was having a timing problem it wouldn't sew well on any fabric. A clearance problem shows up on certain fabrics at certain times. A few things you could do to try to compensate it would be to use a slightly larger needle and turn your top tension dial down to a lower setting. Move the machine a little slower on the frame or increase the speed of the machine. Either way a trip to your technician will be needed. Make sure you tell him to check the needle to hook clearance.
