The light and fan are on separate lines. Make sure you have your circuit breaker off. Check the wire connection to the fan control switch and from the fan control switch to the fan motor. If the connections are good undo the connections to the fan speed control and test the control switch itself. The control is more likely to fail than the motor.
with the fan turned on locate the blower motor and tap it if it starts then the motor needs replacing. you can also check for power at the motor with a test light if you have power chances are good the motor again is bad. if you don`t have power its probably the blower motor resistor which is a common problem. follow the wires back from the motor it will lead you to the resistor.
Sometimes if a lot of steam has been produced while cooking, water may collect under the turntable plate and run down the spindle into the turntable motor. This can short circuit the motor and it will take the fuse out with it.
The fuse is usually housed in a plastic tubular case about 2inches long. Split the tube apart and replace the fuse if necessary (it's something silly like about 7000 volts). Switch on and check to see if anything else is not working like the turntable, lights, or fan etc and replace as necessary.
With the ignition and fan switches turned on check for power at fan motor. If you have power at the motor then wiggle and maybe pull on the blower motor resistor and if fan comes on just fix the connection. But when you check for power at the blower motor and don't have power then check the fan relay if it does'nt click when you turn it on then its faulty.
Chad Gilbert-- I'm having the same problem with my Audiostrider 800. Fan works, screen and soft buttons do nothing. I dont mean to sound dumb, but where are these motor brushes? Are they attached to the resistance motor or somewhere else? What exactly am I looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
itake it the light is still working if it is check the wireing from the pull switch to motor unless you have a neon live tester or volt meter thers nothing else you can check
how old is your emachine?? is your display in condition?? if so, your smps might've worn out.. this is what happens when the display is proper but u still don see anything on the screen..
