Top Four Efficient Windows 7 Password Recovery Methods

Have you ever lost your Windows password? If you have, you must know the feeling. That means you could not use your computer and your work cannot move on. So, are there some ways to retrieve your lost Windows password? Yes, here we will show you several methods for Windows 7 password recovery, and then you do not have to ask for help everywhere.

On this article we will share with you four efficient methods to recover windows 7 password, which are arrayed from easy to difficult.

Method 1: Use an available administrator account

Need: An available administrator account

If you have an available administrator account on your system, you can get your password back easily. Logon Win 7 system with the admin account, and then you can come to the Control Panel and change or delete other accounts' passwords. Just three steps:

Step 1: Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add or remove user accounts

Step 2: Choose the locked administrator account

Step 3: Click Change the password or Remove the password. And then you can change or remove the lost or forgotten password

Method 2: Use Windows password reset disk

Need: a Windows password reset disk (USB key)

Windows 7 allows us to create a Windows password reset disk (USB key) in case that we lost the Win 7 logon password. When we lose the password of Win 7, we can reset a new one with the created disk. The weak point is that you can only create the disk before losing your Windows 7 password. If you do not create that, it could not help. You could follow these five easy steps:

Step 1: When you enter a wrong password on the logon screen, a hint will appear: The user name or password is incorrect. Click OK and you are back to the logon screen. Insert the created Windows password reset disk (USB key) to your Win 7 PC and click Reset password...

Step 2: Click Next

Step 3: Choose your disk and click Next

Step 4: Type a new password and click Next

Step 5: Click Finish and your lost password should be reset

Method 3: Use third party Windows 7 password recovery software

Need:
1. A blank CD/DVD or an USB flash drive
2. A computer that has a CD/DVD writer
3. Windows 7 password recovery software

There is plenty of third party software for password recovery on Windows 7 online. Most of them are designed to create a Windows password recovery disk. With the disk you can recover your lost Windows 7 password. We highly recommend Windows Login Recovery and use it as an example. What you need to do is just three steps:

Step 1: Download Windows Login Recovery

Step 2: Burn a Windows password recovery disk with the software

Step 3: Recover the Windows 7 password with the disk

Method 4: Use Windows 7 installation disc

Need: Windows 7 installation disc

Installation disc of Windows 7 can not only install the system for you, but also restore the system. If you have created a system backup image before you created the Windows 7 password, the installation disc could help you to restore your system to the early status (the status that has no a logon password). Then you could access your computer without password. You can follow these five steps:

Step 1: Insert the installation disc to the locked Win 7 PC

Step 2: Restart your computer from the installation disc

If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or DVD, check the information that came with your computer. You might need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

Step 3: Choose your language settings, and then click Next

Step 4: Click Repair your computer

Step 5: Select a recovery option, and then click Next

It is terrible when we lose the Windows password, but you do not need to worry about that from now on. Above four Windows 7 password recovery methods could help you to recover Windows 7 password and regain access the computer.

How to reset admin password

Reset Windows 7 admin password is not hard in fact, as long as you follow these methods to do.

Method 1: To Reset Admin Password with Administrator Account
On Win 7 logon screen, click user and "Switch user" to choose another administrator to sign into. Turn to Control Panel and navigate to User menu. Choose the account you want to reset its password, and remove its password. And then set a new password for it.

Method 2: Reset Admin Password with Password Reset Disk
You have two ways to get password reset disk. One is create it when you still have the administrator password. The other is to create it with third-party software, such as Windows 7 password genius.

Similarly, on Win 7 logon screen, after type wrong password, click link "Reset Password" to go on. Or insert password reset disk into Windows 7 computer and boot it from disk. Windows 7 Password Genius runs, at the same time, all accounts and password list for you. Choose the administrator account, and click "Reset Password" to finish Windows 7 admin password reset.

If you do not have another available administrator account, you could try some third party software. There is plenty of third party software for password recovery on Windows 7 online. all of them are designed to create a Windows password recovery disk. With the disk you can recover your lost Windows 7 password. I highly recommend Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 and use it as an example. What you need to do is just three steps (you need another computer to create the disk):

Step 1: Download Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0

Step 2: Burn a Windows password recovery disk with the software

Step 3: Create Windows 7 password reset disk

I think the most efficient is using third party Windows password recovery software. Have a try.

Forgot my bootup logon password

The only way to reset your boot logon password is to take out the battery for about 5 minutes and that will clear the password in CMOS. The battery is located on your motherboard. I know it is tough cause its a laptop but just go slow and remember to put the battery back in the same way you took it out, it is easy to put in back in reversed.
