It would be helpful to tell us the Make and Mod. of the TV, Box, DVD player. Tell us just what you want to accomplish in as much detail as you can.

DVD players usually connect using either an RCA cable (generally two or three wires, Red, White, and or Blue/Black/Green). The ends look like an umbrella. These are standard connections. Other connections are USB connectors and direct + and - wires. I must assume your is using RCA format. Match the color from the output on the player to input on the TV. That all there is to that!

Many MKV videos has DTS audio which is propietary therefore unsupported by media players. The solution is to convert the DTS audio to AC3 using a free utility called MKVtoAC3 or any other DTS to AC3 programs. Note that I have the exact Thomson model you have

your set is either tripping or unable to start . the problem is probably faulty capacitors in the power section. a job for a service enigineer

You need to set your tv to the output of the set top box. Hopefully NOT a cable company style cable, but rather RGB or HDMI.

Hopefully those of you who still own their DTI550 had it operational this last weekend and picked up the download that fixed this? If not, it should be repeated some time soon. So don't throw your 550 away yet!
