Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Did you install the sowtware? Did it come up with any errors when the software was loaded? What operating system are you using? Did it ever work correctly?

SOURCE: Samsung S85 camera , USB Error?

Check the USB port on the camera for signs of debris or corrosion. There also is a USB driver chip on the main system board that could go out, but that is pretty rare. Maybe your pet chewed on your USB cord. Double check.

SOURCE: camera will not connect with PC to download pictures

Hi I am vortash .. check for damage on your download lead and around the camera plug interface .. check that the drivers are still installed and reinstall them to make sure ... if you have a sd card installed remove it as it may be lose in the socket and the camera is trying to read it and can't .. check your batteries are ok .. try it on another computer .. if all this fails sounds like the camera interface has broken constant plugging in and out can sometimes cause problems with a loose plug .. hope tthis helps Regards Vortash

Unplug it, and try a different USB port.

When I plug the camera into my PC nothing happens. It used to ask for where I wanted the pictures downloaded to. It does not seem to read from the USB port any longer

usb port might be blown.. try another port first, then try manually up loading.. go to start-my computer- it should be under removable storage.

I cannot get my camera to connect to my computer

what operating system are you using? are you connected to the same USB port on your PC? You can always try a different USB port. Did anything happen to your camera between downloads (dropped it, battery issues, etc.)?
