open your internet browser and type http://192.168.0.50 to access you router's settings. if asked for a username and password and you have them use them. if you've never set them up type "admin" for the username (without quotes) and leave the password field blank. The serial number, hardware version/revision information, MAC address and model number, will be located on a label on both the outer box, and on the adapter itself, usually attached to the bottom of the unit. Assuming you are installing fresh, if it doesnt take admin admin.

Try resetting the device. Follow instructions to reset the Dlink router

A pin hole with Reset written over it, near to power socket.

After resettings any previous password will be reset to default
user: admin, password: nothing just hit enter

your server need to connect on Internet with pubilc IP or fixed NAT with public IP

I would reset the unit to factory setting and start again.

That will get you the manual so you see how to do an hard reset.

in hostname write the domain name that you have bought eg: www.example.com
in username write the user id that you gave whille buying the domain
password write the same password that you have for the above specified username/id

The default address to get to the web interface is 192.168.1.1

The default password is 1234 (No username required)

If that doesn't work, you can restore it to the factory default by pressing the reset button on the back and holding it in for 10 seconds. Be aware that doing this will erase all existing configuration information.

sounds like you just registered a domain name and purchased a web hosting package? if so your web host (godaddygo) should have supplied all that information (server name, username/pw, where to drop your files, etc.)

in general a host would give you a username/pw which you would use to a) sign in to some site to manage your account, b) sign into the ftp server, c) possibly use to sign into an email account that came with the package.

for ftp access to your web files it would typically be something like this
- if your domain was mywebsite.com the host name you use with your ftp software might be ftp.mywebsite.com (just an example - godaddy should give you that information)

once you login through ftp, yes you would typically see a folder called public_html - this is where you copy all your website files - once they are there then people access them by going to http://www.mywebsite.com (and any subfolder name you decide to create under the public_html folder)

you may also see a public_ftp folder - this is typically used to store files that you want to give access for downloading (software, movie files, etc.).

it should ask you for a username and password since your trying to access a secure server. if you had been provided with a username and password when you had bought the product then use it.
