I had the same problem. I have the side by side Profile Artica. The problem was a broken damper. It allows the cold air in from the freezer side. With it broken, there was a steady flow of freezer air coming into the frig side. It was easy to fix. I ordered the part (damper/fan assemble) for around $100. While searching for a solution, it seems that this is a common problem. Unfortunately, I received a wide range of incorrect solutions to the problem which could have cost me a lot of money. I hope this helps!

The freezer not getting cold enough is defiantly due to the condenser fan motor not working. You would be best served to replace the fan motor with the correct part number though others will work, a small desk fan blowing in the back would work. As to the temperature issue in the refrigerator, you might have a bad t-stat.

Freezer not cold enough

setting the freezer at 7 opens the baffle from the freezer to the fridge to make the fridge colder. It works completely opposite than a person would think. Feel in the back of the fridge with it on this setting. The freezer is dumping all its cold air into the fridge thus equalizing the two parts. if you move the selector to 1, you should feel the air from the freezer cut off in the fresh food compartment. try a setting in the middle and let sit for 24 hours. Hope this helps

Sounds like the ductwork inside the fridge that connects to the freezer is either partially blocked with ice or the damper flap is stuck in that duct. Please let me know if this helps, a good defrost should cure it if it is

Hi!!

Let's try this:

Check temp. settings the freezer knob controls thermostat settings, set it about one third of the scale.

The fridge knob, (set it half way) controls a door actuator that lets cold air blown by the little fan in freezer go from evaporator (the one that gets iced up) to the fridge, so, the little fan in freezer is the one in charge of making your fridge work. CHECK FAN, it should come on when you open freezer door for a couple of minutes, it must sound strong, and if you put your hand in front of one of the fridge's air vents you should feel cold air coming out, if no or weak breeze comes out, check passages for obstrucion, if none, replace motor, (about 20 at your hardware store)

I assume your mechanic already checked thermostat and defrost operation, because, if your timer is right, the defrost mechanism will de-ice the evaporator about four times a day.

Check your drain hose for blockage.

Let me know how it worked out, good luck.

Everything in my frig is frozen

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .. I don't know what he was doing with the putty unless he was stopping up the vent which won't work because you have to have the air circulation for the fridge section to work. The fridge temp control may be the problem.

Upper freezer temp. alright Lower refrigerator to

Sounds like the airflow balance is off. When you turn the aircontrol to max what you are actually doing is starving the frig compartment of cold air, cold freezer, warmer frig. It is recommended to set both controls to middle and see if it helps the problem.

We have a LG Two Side Fridge.

Look for the air ciculation regulator sliding vent between frig & freezer section open accordingly. Set both sides to #3 on dials if frig not cooling to less than 40 degrees, might need new cold/temp controller behind frig dial

I have a Kenmore coldspot side by side- not cooling properly

Setting it to 5 is what the manufacturer recommends. If you set it to 1 and the frig is still not cold, then you probably have a faulty cold control (thermostat)

Freezer is freezing but fridge is not cold as it was

Sounds like defrost timer is not putting the refrigerator in defrost every 8 hours. You freezer should be below -5 degrees. Also the condenser beneath the refrigerator possibly needs cleaning. First slowly turn the defrost timer clockwise until freezer goes in defrost. You should hear the sound of crackling noise in freezer after about one minute into defrost. If timer does not come out of defrost or does not turn itself then replace it. Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze
