I have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher Model # DD603. It is about 5 years old. My problem is that the top drawer is difficult to open Pulling it open it becomes easier once I get beyond a certain point. The reverse is true when closing it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...Jared

Not sure if your dishwasher problem has been fixed yet.

The lid seal actuator motors on the top drawer are stuck due to lack of power and therefore you cannot close the drawer. Don't try to force it in as this will cause damage.

First thing to do is to restore power to the drawer. The power comes from the filter board sitting at the base of the dishwasher. You will have to disconnect power to the dishwasher and get both the drawers out. This will give you access to the power filter board.

Refer item 15 in this diagram. It is likely the board is faulty and it supplies the lid seal actuator motor power to both drawers. (separate connections).

You have to take the front cover of each drawer out to remove the drawers from the rails. But be careful not to damage the cable and hose when pulling out. Keep a chair or something next to dishwasher to hold the top drawer.

Once you fix the filter board and restore power to actuator motors, push the lid seal up by hand to make sure it does not block the lid.

i think you have to press the key/ lock button until the symbol disappears. You will find the exact button for your model in your owners manual.

Unfortunately these models do not last this long and you're lucky that it has. This means the rubber casing needs to be replaced and it may be more cost effective to buy a new dishwasher for the cost of the part and labor.

No power to top drawer,.... sounds like the main pcb is shot.... and happened when the washer was in use, so the lid assembly is clamped down, you can still open it by pulling but has alot of resistance. easy to replace the PCB, but dear to buy it!...

By no power you may be implying there is no display etc and the swithces are not working. Most likely the controller of the top drawer has had it. The controller is mounted on the front of the drawer behind the door panel. Hope things are better than that.

If it is a dish drawer type there is a clip at the rear of the drawer that holds the drawer closed. you will need to withdraw the drawer partially to look in. with the drawer open the fingers should be facing towards you. If not you will need to reach in and pull the top of the fingers towards the front. there is a replacement arm that holds the pipes and cables away from this part.
