Leaking water onto counter

When my coffe maker does that I have found i needed to remove (if possible) and clean the coffee filter housing, mine has a spring loaded valve that lets you get a cup halfway though the perk and it had gotten plugged up with grounds, and was overflowing.
Just rinse it out top and bottom and you should be good.
If you cant remove it, be sure to unplug the electrical first :)

Where is the water filter on frs24wscb?

Good Afternoon Teresa,

I understand you want to know where the water filter is located on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS24WSCB. The water filter is located in the top back right-hand corner. To change filter follow the instructions below:
It is not necessary to turn the water supply off to change the filter.
1. Set ice maker lever (wire signal arm) to the OFF (up) position.
2. Hold filter cup firmly, and unscrew counter clockwise. (Some water could leak out as you remove cup. This is normal.) Filter cartridge should come down with cup. If cartridge remains in housing, pull down gently, while twisting filter back and forth.
3. Empty cup of any substance.
4. The large o-ring that seals the filter system sets in the o-ring groove down inside the cup. Should the o-ring fall out during filter cartridge replacement, simply place it back in the groove prior to screwing the cup back in place. If the o-ring becomes damaged, you will need to order a new one from the Consumer Assistance Center.
5. Discard old filter cartridge.
6. Remove new filter cartridge from packaging, and install.
7. Place filter cartridge in cup. The end with the small o-ring should be up, out of the cup.
8. Screw cup, with filter, back onto housing. Do Not Use Wrench To Reinstall Cup. Filter cartridge will self-align as cup is tightened. Be sure cup is completely tightened with PureSource Plus Logo facing outward. Do Not Tighten Past Stop.
9. Set ice maker level on the ON (down) position.
10. Check for leaks. Open refrigerator door. Wipe any water drops from the filter cup. Run a glass of water. If there is a leak, unscrew filter cup, and reinsert the filter cartridge. Check placement of large O-ring. Reinstall filter cup, making certain it is tightened completely.
11. To condition filter system and purge air from water line, run several glasses of water through water dispenser. This will also assure that the purest water possible is stored in water tank.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My Amana french door/bottom freezer is leaking water. Did the procedure with hot water the drain in back of the freezer, although it seemed clear of ice. That didn't help. The leaking stops when I...

Two possibilities:
1. A cracked plastic tube. These will leak whenever there's a call for water - either the chilled water dispenser, or re-filling the icemaker tray (two seperate tubes). Pay particular attention to anywhere the tubes are clamped to the chassis; anywhere they're routed near or under the refrigeration unit; and near the solenoid valve - especially if there's a tight loop in the tube there.
2. A bad (leaking) connection where one of the tubes exits the water valve. Again, these will leak whenever the valve is activated.

Those plastic tubes don't last forever. I've replaced many of them for the same symptoms. They're known to simply deteriorate with age.
Manuf's make good money selling replacement tubing kits.

Water Filter Leaks

Since you weren't very specific where it leaks or when it started (like after a filter change) it could be tough to troubleshoot this leak.

If it is leaking at the faucet connection try tightening up where it screws onto the faucet. Depending on your strength (or lack of) you may need to use pliers to get a tight connection. Don't go crazy tight or it will crack the plastic fitting. If it still leaks remove the unit from the faucet and check the rubber washer inside where it screws onto the faucet. Make sure it's still there and is centered inside the cup and seated properly. Then reattach the unit to the faucet and tighten it well.

If it's leaking from the main body try removing the filter and reinstalling it making sure you have seated the filter properly and screwed on the cover correctly, and all the way. When it is tight the water outlet will be exactly at the bottom of the unit. Sometimes it's tricky getting it tight enough especially with wet hands.

Finally, if the leak is coming from the filter on/off selector this could be tough to fix. I would try firmly pushing and pulling the selector knob in and out several times while in both the on and off positions. This may re-seat the leaking seal. I wouldn't be too hopeful about this fix though. You may need to replace the unit if this part is leaking.

Leaking on floor only after shuts down.

Griz, check the vent and see if you have bunch of gunk thats collecting water in it. Sometimes the spray arms are cracked and direct water into the vent. If this happens you will have leaking down the center of the door. Catriver...post back
