Black inkjet leaking on the bottom of our printer

Our OfficeJet G85xi Printer is leaking black toner on the bottom.
What is the problem

Same problem as Anna's. (As far as I can remember I have always used HP cartridges.)

  • Inked up Jan 13, 2008

Same problem - leaking only black, not color, ink. I have ONLY ever used HP cartridges, so it isn't a "thin" ink issue.

I am almost sure that you have used a fortune of compatible ink which is thinner then the genuine ink in this case so now the waste ink sponge has been overfilled, you now have to check the waste ink sponges and change them, but take into account the cost won't be cheap, also you might have had an error code before that some technician reset which warned about this

How do I change the black printhead of an HP Officejet 7130xi?

Yes, you can only replace the black printer head.
Is it saying that you have a bad print head?
If not, try to get a paper towel and fold it to be a little thick and get it humid (not too wet) and let the printer head soaking on top of the paper towel for an hour or so.
If the problem is because the printer head is dry, that usually resolvs the problem.
I had the same problem a while ago and I even did that with the color printer heads.
Good Luck,
