How do I fix the rollers that won't turn when paper is inserted in shredder?

That shredder is as weak as they come - it is probably a broken plastic part inside the mechanism. Recommend you throw it away and get the Amazon Basics shredder, your experience will be much better. Sorry.

How to lubricate a Black & Decker Model BD-s600 paper shredder

    • 1 Turn the paper shredder off and unplug it.
    • 2 Clean out the paper shredder. Make sure the blades are free of paper bits and debris. Remove pieces of paper that are jammed around the blades.
    • 3 Spray the shredder oil through the blade opening or throat of the shredder. Spray it in a stream.
    • 4 Plug the shredder back in and switch the reverse button on. Then run it for 10 to 30 seconds in reverse to allow the blades to be saturated with shredder oil.
    • 5 Put the shredder in forward motion and let it run again to disperse the oil thoroughly to all areas of the cutting blades.
    • 6 Feed a couple pieces of paper through the blades to be shredded and absorb any extra shredding oil.

My paper shredder wont turn off

Shredders have sensors that tell it to turn on. Usually the there is a spring loaded button/sensor in the middle of the slot that you feed the paper in. Once the sensor button is pushed down, it thinks a piece of paper is being fed in and begins to turn the blades.

If your shredder won't stop running, I think the sensor button is stuck in the down position.

1) try pushing the reverse button for a while to see if it clears the problem.

2) if not, then unplug the shredder. Find the button/sensor near the middle of the shredder slot and with a tweezer, try removing any clogged scraps of paper near the sensor button to get it to pop up fully.

3) I've never seen a shredder with more than one sensor in the middle but if yours has more, make sure they are all in the popped up position when there is no paper in the shredder.

4) Plug the shredder back into the AC outlet and try it again. Good luck

I was shredding 3 papers at a time and the shredder seemed like it was running out of gas and dying. The red overload button came on. I checked the basket and it was not full at all. The motor seemed to...

Return it to the place you purchased it for the motor has a problem and can be a fire hazzard. You should be able to run 6 sheets through at a time without it slowing down.

Light is on. Reverse works, paper fed won't trigger the shredder

If you are pushing a button to make the shredder run something doesn't sound right.

See if this makes sense, Generally shredders will use a photo switch or a micro switch to detect the paper. If you are pushing a button it sounds like you have a micro switch. The switch should have an arm that would extend into the throat of the shredder and the paper would hit the arm activating the switch. From your description it sounds like the arm is missing or bent out of the way of the paper. If you can see the paper actually hitting an arm that would activate the button then the arm may just need to be bent a little so it moves farther to operate the button

Hope this makes sense and helps
