I have diagram for you to look at, Also not that radio stopped production in 2006. There are two types: one with MOSFET finals and one with regular finals. Dont turn any of the other regulators unless you know what you are doing and have the test gear to do it right. http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/galaxy/dx2517/dx2517_adj.htm

Rci 2980, still work but frequency counter and radio is actually jumping frequency on transmitting and lights dimming, I turn rf power down and it's not as bad, pwr.supply or regulator or what?

I have a RCI 2980 that the receive is very poor on.What might be causing the problem or where might i look on the board to fix the problem?

is it in the RX stage or the audio output (audio op amp)

The receive is down on the rci 2980 very poor.It only receives the people that are close.What might be causing this problem.

bad swr match , bad ground on antenna . If it a used radio it could be a number of things. Take it to a tech and let them straighten it out for you.

Rci 2980 no modauliton on am/lsb/usb/fm.but good recived. and good output.on am.

is it steady output on AM with no modulation swing. then change the Audio transistor. SSB should work. they feed straight through to rf final. if no modulation on either mode, then check the mic, audio ic preamp.

Need wireing diagram for a rci 2980 to tug8 mic

Here is what I have: If the Tug 8 is a 4 wire cable,1/shield 2/white 3/red 4/black 5/N/C 6/N/C
If the TUG 8 is 6 wire cable,1/shield & blue 2/white 3/red 4/black 5/N/C 6/N/C .The reason I gave two diagrams is I can never remember if the 8 or the 9 is 4 wire cable.Also if your radio keys up when you plug mic in reverse the black and red.Good Luck and take care!

RCI 2980 power adjust problem

VR16 is not the low power adjustment, it's the CW Tone.
As far as I can tell, there is no low power adjust.
Try a different resistance pot for the RF Power.
