My husband just used my dryer 6 hours ago, no problem. this morning i loaded in my kids' clothes. When I turned around to close it, my fast moving 1 year (25lb) son was standing on the door bouncing. I immediately took him off....door seemed fine. But then dryer would not turn on. I did what the manual said...lint trap was clean, plugged up, flip breakers, duct clear, switch on the door intact. Could my son's weigh and movement actually affected the dryer???????????

Re: Won't work at all,
The only things that will not allow the dryer to start are the following:
I know you said you checked the breakers, but they could be the cause.
The Child bouncing on the doorcould have broken the stub stub that pushes the door switch in.
You may need to firmly press the Start switch.
The dryer need to be plugged in, I know you checked it.
These are the four main things. Since the child bounced on the door, the trouble is most likely with the door switch. Try to use a stick or something to simulate the door closing and activate the switch and push the start button. If this starts the Dryer, and closing the door firmly does not, then the switches position or doors prod that pokes the switch, is not lined up or failiing to fully activate the door switch.

Most likely tour blower is slipping. It might be tossing out air but not enough. These dryers are notorius for having bad blower wheels. To get into it kill the power and raise the top using a putty knife to release the top clips then get the front off and inspect the filter housing for lint. Their will be a big ball of lint. Grab the blower wheel and wiggle. If it is loose you will be able to tell.Hear is my crappy phone video:
Close the door firmly. The dryer will not operate if the door is not completely closed.
Press the "Start" button firmly or push the knob in to start the dryer.
Turn the dial past the "Off" position and away from "Wrinkle
Prevent." The dryer will not start in the "Off" or "Wrinkle Prevent"
Long Drying Times
Remove the lint screen. Clean it and replace it.
Check the temperature of the room. The dryer will not operate properly in temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Inspect the area around the dryer. It requires at least
1-inch clearance on the front and sides of the dryer. A 5-inch clearance
is needed on the back of the dryer. Move the dryer, if needed.
Separate large loads and do not use an air dry cycle.
Lint, Stains and Wrinkles
Clean the lint screen before drying each load of clothes to prevent lint buildup on clothing.
Add fabric softener sheets before starting a drying cycle.
If the sheets are added after the load has partially dried, they can
leave stains on the clothing.
Dry small loads and remove clothing as soon as the drying cycle completes to prevent wrinkling.
Dryer is Noisy
Check the inside of the dryer for loose change, buttons or other items. Empty the pockets on clothing before drying.
Separate items that are knotted together and restart the
load. Knotted or balled up clothing will bounce and make the dryer
Level the dryer. Turn the leveling legs on the front of the
dryer clockwise or counter-clockwise until the dryer is level. Turning
the legs clockwise will lower the dryer. Turning the legs
counter-clockwise will raise the dryer.
The belt can be replaced as follows. 1 remove top and front of dryer shell 2 belt goes around drum around motor pully then under tentioner wheel 3 replace front and top of dryer (top pops off use a slotted screw driver) Thanx for using Fixya Please take your time to rate me
Just kidding. Most of the ink can be cleaned with alcohol. If it doesn't then try some ink remover solutions or use lemon extract. You may even want to soak a cloth in lemon extract and place it in the dryer in tumble only cycle to let the dryer do some of the work.
Hope this helps. Make your husband do all the work!
A couple of things is to make sure you have 110v at the recepticle, if you do then it's with in the dryer. It could be the door switch wont close, thermal over load won't reset in your motor(if it got hot enough to open, you said it had been in use) , broken belt switch if your dryer has one, or even the thermal fuse (in series with L-1) opened up. Ohm out the door switch in the closed position, it should read 0 ohms, Same with the thermal fuse, should read 0 ohms, not an open read.Good Luck..MJE
