I have an Acer Aspire running Windows XP.  My display settings have been custom set to 325%, now the windows are so big I don't have access to the tabs to change it back. I've tried to "roll" the windows up, down and all around but they won't go up high enough.  Please help....

Sounds like the display resolution has been lowered, just go in your control panel > Display > Settings, and set it at a higher setting.

    Try any of the following:

    • Control Panel > Display > Appearance > Under "Font size" Select "Normal"

    • Control panel > Display > Appearance > Click "Advanced" > Under "Item": Select "Icon", Under "Size:" Select "32"

    • Control Panel > Display > Settings > click "Advanced" > Under "DPI Settings" Select "Normal Size (96 DPI)"

    • Also depending on your model, you may have a "Zoom" function, it all depends on the software installed in your laptop by Toshiba. You should be able to access it from an icon next to your clock.

    Hope this helps

The following should get you back to normal:

  1. Click the "Start" button
  2. Click "Control Panel"
  3. Click "Display"
  4. Click the "Settings" tab on the top
  5. Near the bottom is a box that says "Screen Resolution" , to make the stuff on the screen smaller , slide the bar toward the right and hit apply. You may need to slide it over a couple of times to make the display look correct on your screen.

That should fix you right up!

I want to uninstall windows 7 from my toshiba mini laptop and instal windows xp. how can i do it? my laptop does not have CD drive. it is Toshiba NB255-N245. pls send me guidelines ASAP.

You may not be successful in that XP cannot run newer hardware. The issue you will have is drivers. Stick with 7 and fix any issues. It works very well, once everything is resolved.

Running XP on a satellite - cannot get desktop to

Reinstall your VGA driver from right clicking on computer>properties>device manager>display adapter>driver>uninstal. Keep ur XP CD in ur CD/DVD rom, windows will detect the hardware automatically and follow the instructions. If windows does not have a compatable driver, follow the link below for the official site of toshiba to download the driver for your laptop for free.
