In the menu do the auto convergence. If still bad replace the convergence ics. Also check resistors around the ics. You can remove the front grill and access the conv board from the front. Small board on the right. It popps out.
they are located in the front of the TV behind the speaker grille. Remove the screws from behind that secure the speaker grille and the two inside the small door below the control buttons, Then you will see a small access panel remove that and the ICs are on the skinny board up front. Do not remove the rear panel on your model with the cord plugged in or it will destroy the HD circuits
You will need two STK 392-110 ICs. They are located in the front of the TV. remove the speaker grille and then the small access panel and you will see the convergence board it has two Black heat sinks the ICs are mounted there. You can get replacement ICs with free shipping and free instalation instructions at the following Link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Its located in the front behind the speaker panel there s a nother small access panel the convergence board is right there on the right hand side up front.
do not remove the back panel to that model with the power cord still plugged in cause if you do the digital section of the TV will be completely wiped out. The convergence board is in the front behind the speaker grille and small access panel its the first board after the access panel its on the right side rectangle board. You can get a convergence board at the following link just leave an email with your model number and what your needing. I work there as a support tech and they just got those boards in yesterday and havent even listed them yet. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
there will be 2 convergence ICs that you can access from the front. take the grill off in front(screws behind door and on side in back of tv)and take the panel off. then the board right in the front with the black heat sinks is the convergence power board. take the board out or position it comfortably and replace the 2 large ICs(stk392-110) and any burnt resistors you can see. after fininshed check alignment in the regular tv menu.
it is most likely the convergence panel. do your speakers make a thumping sound? if not, disregard this solution. change the stk392-110 convergence amps located behind the front cover on the convergence board. also check the resistors, it seems like they always take out two or more resistors. make sure all
of your solder connections are good and none of them are touching.
also, when you get the set back on you will need to manually adjust the
convergence from the menu. you will need the factory remote. if you
find bad resistors, the values are on them, but if you need the values
and wattage, then use this page:
This is by far the easiest TV to replace the convergence ic's - you don't even have to take the back off! Remove the front panel by removing the screws on the back edges secured to the front to the cabinet, also remove the small screw behind the front control door - the front comes off - remove access panel, there you will see the convergence board right in front - unplug the connectors to the board - pull it out and replace the ic's (2)part# STK392-110. Also check for any burnt or discolored resistors near the ic's - they may need replacing
