You did not specify the error you are getting. However, if you have an additional TZ cartridge, try replacing the cartridge as the current one may be jammed or out of tape.

Press the Function Key. Size will show up, then hit the function key again. You should be able to move the (< >) arrow keys to select your size, which is displayed above the display screen.
1st of all did you check and made sure the cartridge is working fine?
If not try to take the cartridge our of the printer and inspect if the tape is cut, if found to be cut replace it imdly. Take help of the user manual for replacement of the cartridge etc.,
I was having the ame issue. Found the solution on the user manual (posted online). Press Function, scroll to "Margin", press "Function", use arrows to select "#" or "##", then press Function again. Now it should print with a margin, thus not cutting off your letters. Mine was set to "-", which is basically no margin.
What size tape are you using in the machine? Some of the fonts won't work if you are using 1/4" tape. It will say ERROR if you're asking it to print a larger size. This won't be a problem for you if you switch to 1/2" tape, or just use the two smallest font sizes.

when I hit print, the diplay reads "error". no error code, just error.
