If the Bluetooth connection and HFL (HandsFreeLink) option on your 2008 Acura MDX are grayed out, it may be due to a few different causes. Here are some possible solutions:
Check to make sure that your phone is compatible with the Bluetooth system in your Acura. If your phone is not compatible, it will not be able to connect.
Make sure that the Bluetooth feature on your Acura is turned on. If it is not, you will not be able to connect your phone.
Make sure that your phone's Bluetooth feature is turned on and that it is in pairing mode. If it is not, you will not be able to connect.
Make sure that the phone is not already paired to another device. If it is, it will not be able to connect to your Acura.
Check for software updates for your Acura's radio or navigation system. Sometimes updates can fix issues with Bluetooth connectivity.
If your Acura was recently serviced, the technician may have disconnected the battery, which could cause the settings to be lost. In this case, you may need to have the settings reset by a Acura dealership.
If the problem persist, it may be necessary to take your vehicle to an Acura dealership to have it checked and repaired if necessary.

Your phone has to be capable of blue tooth.Go into menu on car and phone for blue tooth.Set the car to discover or your phone and the phone will say discoverable for 30 seconds then the car or phone will say pair enter number. This number usually is 0000 then the car will say LG or what ever type of phone you have and you are done every time you get into the car it will automatically sink with your phone as long as blue tooth is turned on in your phone. Any one hooking their phone to your car will be number 2 If they drive the car and you are not with them their phone will hook up. You can by house phones that do this. You come home lay your phone down and your in another room the cell phone rings. You can push the cell phone button on your house phone and answer it or make a call from it . It will ask you on the screen if you want to use the home phone or cell phone and it stores your contacts also. If this helps please rate it
I have a 2009 Buick Enclave...a few months ago out of the blue, my blue tooth does not work...the phone rings in, but when I press talk on steering wheel...it goes quiet...it's connected but they can't hear me and I can't hear them....the phone worked fine, then one day it just started acting goofy...any suggestions? I have deleted, paired, unpaired!
When u want to pair your bluetooth phone the first time, you must do this in the first 30 seconds after ingnition. This is the only period your audi bluetooth carkit is in search mode. Follow these steps to make it work:
Put your bluetooth phone in search mode, then start your car. Your phone will now detect something like AUDI UHV-1 or similar. Connect to this device, and enter either code 1234 or else code 0000. Your phone will then connect. Command your phone to keep the Audi device listed as a save connection, which can automatically connect. The next time you enter your car it will connect by itself (after ignition that is).
