Problem is that there is no solution as of yet for my loss of sound from my Toshiba laptop internal speakers.Unless I want to buy a different brand Laptop. Thanks to windows. You see in the last few months when Windows released updates some of these updates are not compatible with Toshiba laptops.I found this out when I went on Toshibas website and on a discussion that there are a lot of people who own toshiba laptops with the same problem of sound loss .So for now if you own a Toshiba laptop there is no fix for this your stuck with no sound. Thanks to Windows I have to deal with no sound .When I think of all the time I wasted in the last 2 weeks trying to fix something I can't fix.I even went on Windows website and they told me things to do and nothing worked The didn't even tell me they really knew what was wrong Even told me to install other audio drives or to do a system reinstall which none of this will fix the problem. Thanks alot Windows !

Could be an audio driver issue. Does the sound work okay if you plug in external speakers or headphones? If problem persists with headphones/external speaker
Boot into safe mode (F8 on windows restart)
Select Safe Mode
When windows loads (it will take longer than usual).
Control Panel > System Properties> Device Manager > Delete/ Uninstall your audio drivers, reboot your machine - audio should work now.

Testimonial: "tried this didn't work."

It could be an internal speaker issue, though unusual that it works for 10 - 15 mins. Do I infer that the headphones work for longer than 15 mins?

No sound from internal speaker, but I can hear using headset. The problem heppened with Laptop HP 620.

This is a possible damage on the internal speakers or a connection fault at the headphone jack connector. you might need to open the laptop to check and confirm on the connectors.

No headphone sound, but internal speaker works fine.

Hello,

Hello,

It is because that your internal speaker is the default play back device other than your head phone or external speaker.

Need to go to your sound setting.

Depend on your operating system, click Start, then click Control panel, then click Hardware and Sound, click Sound.

Under Playback tab, select your external speaker or head phones as default device.

No sound from external speakers with toshiba dynadock

if using XP, go to start control panel , sound and audio devices.Under the audio tab make sure the C Media CM106 sound device is selected under sound playback. Then under the volume tab set the volume somewhere in the middle or at the top if you don;t have active speakers . Then Under Speaker settings advanced, make sure the speaker setup is set to Laptop Stereo speakers. Also make sure the speaker volumes are up on the speaker volume button. click ok. If no result check that the cm106 sound decvice was cemented in as I saw it dissaper when I thought i had slected it. I think the key thing here is the device and the laptop speakers setting.

Toshiba satellite laptop

Before going to any shops, here is a suggestion that can't hurt anything.
Go to the Control Panel and click on Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume tab at the bottom, you will see "Speaker Settings". Click on the Advanced button. Change that setting to "Stereo headphones". You should hear the sound only through the headphones then.
