RCA CC311 camcorder it turns off after a few seconds

I use the power pack attached to the camera and when I turn on the camera it will stay on for about 4-5 seconds and then shuts off. It will not stay on. Once in awhile it will stay on for about 15 minutes and then shut off but it then repeats the 4-5 second shut off.

If your are still looking for an answer... The camera has some bad capacitors on one, or more, of the internal boards. I had the same problem.
There's a man named Cameron in Florida that can fix it (AV Repair), but it won't be cheap! I had him fix mine... it cost $350.00! But I love my camera... filmed many, many, things with it. It works great, and looks professional, and is... recorded tapes have excellent quality, and when transfered to DVD they can be enhanced (if you need to)!

SOURCE: shuts off

I have the exact same problem. It worked fine until the tape ran out. I even tried running it off the DC power cord instead of the battery. It seems there is something else wrong with it.

Screen E:91:01 what does it mean?

Most probably the issue is with the lens. Service is required if the issue persists after power resetting.

Perform Reset by following steps:

1. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD panel of the camcorder.
2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.
3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

3. Perform a manual power reset by following the steps:

1. Turn off the camcorder.
2. Disconnect AC power adapter.
3. Remove the battery pack.
4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.
5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.
6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.
7. Turn on the camcorder.

If the issue persists after following all the steps service will be required.

Cassette Jam

The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening the cassette compartment cover. When the cover is fully open, the videocassette will eject automatically. Please try the following procedures. 1. Attach the power source to the camcorder correctly or use a fully-charged battery pack. 2. Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch. The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds.
