The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced

Carol, The F1 error code could be cause a failed ERC(EOC,Clock assembly)or a faulty touch-pad.
To check the ERC and the touch pad, follow the steps below :
-Disconnect renger's power cable.
- Gain access to ECR's back.
- Disconnect the ribbon cable between the ERC and the touch-pad
- Reconnect renger's power cable and switch on.
- If you will get the F1 and the beep,it means that the ERC is
fault and should be replaced.
- If you don't see the F1 code and don't have the beep, you should
replce the touch-pad.
Good luck !
