Barcode prints fuzzy

It looks like the barcode is being dithered. I had a similar problem on another computer. Then , I just turned dithering off. I've done that here as well but the problem persists. Some barcodes print clearly but others that have more characters print fuzzy. They appear fine onscreen and print fine on other printers.

I haven't. On the one computer, it prints fine so I don't think there's actually anything wrong with the printer, just the settings. I've even tried exporting and importing settings. That doesn't help.

Have you tried to "clean" the printerheads. You know like you would do with a normal printer. Sometimes the printheads go stucked with old ink(wich you cannot see on screen ofcorse)

SOURCE: improper printing of barcodes

recalibrate the label length in the printer(hold feed and power up). from memory bar-one uses the label settings from windows, so go into printers and faxes under control panel and correct the label size

The printer is in line mode. Do the following to take it out of line mode:
Turn printer power off.
Hold the feed button while turning printer power on.
When the light starts flashing, release the feed button.
When the light starts flashing again, press and hold the feed button.
When the light turns steady amber, release the feed button.
When the light turns steady green, the mode is changed.
Verify the mode by printing and inspecting a status report.

This requires good timing and may take several tries. You'll know it worked if no labels are reeled out after you're done.

SOURCE: Zebra TLP2844 does not print the barcode label

Turn off the printer, then hold down the feed button while you turn it on again. After the configuration label prints, turn the printer off and on again, then try to print your labels.

If the barcodes still don't print, make sure they don't extand past the top, bottom or side of the label. If you software allows you to "clear the label cache" or "re-image the enitre label", try that.

are they the same barcode type?
what is the font set at? using Arial or other fonts can make the software send a more complicated image. use the Zebra Triuverate font. this keeps it simple. also, do a print out of the settings on each printer and compare them line by line. change the settings to match the printer that is printing correctly.

Testimonial: "Thanks. Printing out the settings helped me realize it was not a printer issue. It was a software issue. Installing older version of software fixed it"

Print quality on Brother Intellifax 2840 fax/printer has changed from black to gray. I've tried different toner cartridges, but it doesn't help.

The online fax service allows you to choose the quality or your outbound faxes: black and white thresholding (with improved readability) or grey and colors dithering (to render grey zones of pictures and logos).

Icons and text exhibit a right-handed black and white dithering or noisy shading effect. This gets increasingly bad as windows are opened and closed. It almost looks like a RFI/EMI radiation problem but...

If the monitor displays a similar effect on the monitor's own display, the colour ajustment or no signal display then the answer is most likely yes. A good tech guy may be able to fix the problem but it's going to cost almost the price of a smaller screen, similar to what you have, anyway. My suggestion is to just grab yourself a new monitor.

Check the "Dithering" setting in the printer driver. Turning "Dithering" on improves graphics but reduces speed of processing.
