Introduction

The flashing error code that indicates a jammed printer is the digital-age equivalent of a flat tire. Sooner or later it happens to everyone, so you'd better know how to get things moving again if you want to finish your print job.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderate Steps
1 Step One Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2Step Two Turn off the printer.
3Step Three Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

4Step Four Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
5Step Five If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

6Step Six Click to enlargeIf you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. SEE PICS http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/0104361047293b9a4006c.jpg
7Step Seven Click to enlargeIf the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.SEE PICS http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/0104365847293bcaa9870.jpg

8Step Eight Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
9Step Nine If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer.
Reinspect the paper path.

Found one of the wheels(Tyres) and black insert in the paper drawer when I exchanged A4 for A5 paper. Put the insert and wheel back but printer still not working - that is to say, paper is still not

The wheel you are referring to grabs the paper. You say it is not working. Is it not pulling the paper, jamming? Make sure the roller is installed correctly and firm. It is easy not to get them clicked in place. Recheck. Possible damage to the device that holds the roller as I call them but I doubt that. Just recheck your steps again. Use a strong flashlight so you can see real good.

I have problem with hp laserjet p3005 with paper jams inside fuser assembly, i already clean the rubber roller then still the same problem occure...please someone help me.....sorry for my bad english

If you are getting jams in the fuser, then there may be paper stuck in there, or the roller sleeve is damaged or the drive gear could be bad. You are going to have to take the rear cover off to look at the fuser.
Someone trained is going to have to remove the fuser to inspect it.

Will not print on half sheets of paper that we have cut. Wants A5 paper that we do not order. Is there a way to disable the sensor that detects that our paper is not A5?

Hello dmerrifield.

Unfortunately, there is no proper way to do what you suggested. In any paper tray-style printer, sensors must be used to determine the entrance and exit of the paper as it passes through the machine.

Based on basic printer theory-of-operation, the printer would normally just jam and throw a code. The printer, surprisingly enough, detects your paper as A5, which is the closest to the actual paper you are using. That is actually very intelligent for the printer to determine that.

Anyways, you technicially can just tell the printer to print off of A5 paper at all times and that may solve your problem. Just go through the menus in both your printer's control panel and Windows/Mac printer dialogs to make the change.

The only proper way to use custom-half-sized paper is to use a top-loading inkjet printer. Those have no paper-length sensors and will print on literally anything you throw into it.

Good luck in finding your solution. If what I posted helped you, please positively rate my post. If not, please comment to allow me to assist you further.

Thanks.

Paper jam in the lexmark x4550

If you know someone who is handy with this kind of stuff, you should get them to open the printer up and remove the paper. You could also try to just send sheets of paper through to see if they can dislodge it (but that may cause paper jams as well).

Paper jam when no paper has been anywhere near it, 1/2 INSTALLED

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Cannon MP210 printer

I tried this and it worked (thanks to a suggestion from someone else but can't find his name right now) --

I found a slender piece of cardboard, the front off one of my 1-subject notebooks. I cut the jagged edges off, made sure there wasn't any debris or loose crumbs of paper. Put about 20 sheets of paper into the printer and put this cardboard as the first sheet. Pressed the copy button. When it started to attempt to feed, I forced it through.

What did it find?? A moth had flown into the printer at some time, gotten smushed, smashed and stuck -- and was preventing the paper from feeding through! OMG, I almost tossed this Canon MP210 in the garbarge.

So thanks to you guys with ideas about cardboard and a little muscle. I ran another piece through just to clean out all the stickiness (and the remnants of the moth's body). Works fine now.
