Not to sure about a mac but I think mac's use a mp4 format when it rips a cd, and the Sansa will use a mp3 file. You can download a free program to convert these files but again, I know where for a PC but not a mac. Look for free mp4 to mp3 converter program for Mac..
hi there, see if windows recognizes the player,, erase anything on it(don't format!), copy files using the windows explorer onto it. if that does not work, try getting an firmware-update plus manager software fitting your windows version from manufacturer''s homepage and let the programs work the magic.
plug it into your computer with the included usb cable, go into my computer and select sansa m230 and drag and drop music that you have on your computer onto the player. you can also sync your music if you use windows media player.
If the files are not on the PC, Windows Media Player will not see them.
You can manually manage the music from My Computer. Double-click on the device name Sansa m230 and you can see the files and folder.
You can just drag and drop these onto your computer to save them.
You might also want to format the device to remove everything and give you a clean slate.
Right Click on Sansa m230 and select format.
Best of Luck.
Open the device under My Computer.
Your music is in the Music folder. Select the songs to copy, right click on one and select COPY. Select the destination folder on your computer and right click an select PASTE.
This should copy all of your music to your PC.
