You will have to reset/clear the password. This WILL REMOVE all passwords setup in Dept ID Management. Go into Service mode by pressing the Additional Function key, then the 2 & 8 pressed at the same time, then Additional Function key again. Press COPIER on display, then Function ( across the top ), then CLEAR, PWD-CLR, Then Ok. You may also use the arrow keys on the display to get to PWD-CLR. Then the RESET key or maybe power down the equipment.
My Canon C-IR2016 is demanding a Administrative ID & Password. I did entered the Admin PWD and latter removed it. but can't really tell what happen that after I restarted the copier, it still requested for the Admin ID & Password. unfortunately the the details i used before is not functioning any more. PLEASE I need Help !! thanks
Press "Additional Functions", then "ID", then "Stop", then "Additional Functions" keys in that order. Press [STORE USER ID #] then press [OK] key. Press [CLEAR ALL ID #s] key. Press [OK].
CAUTION.....this proceedure totally wipes out all stored ID #'s and User Counters. To re-enable passwords, must be reinput manually.

Emergency Boot CD is a download you can find many places. Burn to CD and then boot off of CD, it has an option to change user passwords, including Administrator. I actually used the Admin reset functionality. I fix computers for my church, and whoever used the computer last put a admin password on it and then left the church. I was able to reset and get back to a working computer without any problems. Works great.
