Here is what you all need to do. In order to bypass the ebrake switches blue preventing screen you must take out the head unit and splice(tie in) the PINK park wire to the BLACK ground wire. Trust it works just fine after doing so, so you will not have to worry about the horrid blue screen no more. Or

) Insert the DVD and you'll get the blue screen.

(If you have more than one tv, the unit itself will have the blue screen but the additional tv's you have plugged in will NOT, they will show the dvd menu. Thus you will be able to see the hidden menu on the additional screens after inputting the code, but not on the main unit because of its blue screen.)

2) On the main remote, push stop twice and then 1, 2, 6, 4

3) Push the joystick on the unit SOUTH twice and then click it once.

4) Press system SETUP on the main remote twice to save your settings.

It may take a few tries but you'll get it. This method can be done if you don't want to bother temporarily activating the brake sequence, but if you only have the unit and no additional TV's, its #$%^&* damn hard because you can't see the settings your changing.

you can use the deck without a remote, the only thing is you cant go into the system without the codes. there is a sequence code you must enter to disable it. there are a couple of videos on youtube but none for the uv7i. trust me, i 've been there on and off since the summertime. i am not sure if the sequence works due to me not hooking it up to external monitors but you can disable the blue screen with a on/off switch...only problem is, you'll have to do it everytime you turn your car on. here's what you do....
buy a on/off switch(radio shack $3)
hook the pink wire to one part of the switch-the other to the negative ground
put a dvd in(from what i hear, it must be store brought), wait unntil the blue screen comes up
turn the switch off...wait two seconds/turn on...wait two seconds/turn off...wait two seconds and turn back on. the blue screen is gone and video is on. ifyou still need the diagram, i'll scan mine for you.

The emergency brake sequence is simple. First apply your emergency brake, or engage your toggle switch on keep it on for 3-5 seconds then release or disengage for 3-5 seconds then reengage and a couple of seconds later you have vidieo. ENJOY.

RUN A TOGGLE SWITCH FROM THE PINK WIRE AND THE OTHER END GROUND IT PUT DVD IN FLIP SWITCH 2OR3 TIMES YOU SHOULD BE ALL GOOD

Its very simple splice the power wire "constant power" Red wire.

Next attatch the yellow parking switch wire to the constant power.

wallah... You can now watch movies on your in dash while driving! The deck thinks the brake is engaged

Alot easier then codes and pressing brake pedals and all that jive. They wont do it if your get it installed somewere so you have to do it yourself, its very easy

There is a pink wire that goes to the parking brake. It connects to the ground wire on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on the instrument panel.

connect the pink wire on your stereo to a frame ground.
