Husky 1.5 HP 6 gallon compressor motor runs but does not build up any pressure. Unit is only 2 years old and is only occassionally used to air up my car tires.

Thanks for the help Helperone. I actually found a problem with the pump. I removed the cover plate and there are 3 reed valves mounted on it. One of them was broken. Appears to be a common problem according to Nu Air 1-866-242-4298. New part ($8.00) should arrive Friday.

Your manual pressure release valve might be stuck open or blocked open by some debree. It should have a steel pull ring on the end of it. Exercise it and try running it again. Also the pressure regulator adjustment might have been backed off to zero. Crank it clockwise and see if this helps. Check the air output lines from the compressor to the tank for leaks.

While using my compressor (Husky WL65004AJ) the compressor used to go on when the pressure dropped down to about 85-90 psi. Now it doesn't. The only way that I can build up the pressure again is to shut...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. I tried several places too cross this model number: WL65004AJ without success. The pressure switch has 2 settings one for HIGH cutoff and one for LOW cycle on. 1/2 of your pressure switch is not functioning properly. With the proper model number I could find a source for the pressure switch for you. There are a couple of different types of presure switchs, One is a stand alone switch on the air plumbing with no external controls (under $30.00) and one is an all-in-one switch that has the on off switch and air lines connected to it that runs around $86.00. You need a pressure switch.... it is just a matter of finding out which one fits your model and replacing it.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Have a husky 19 gal 1.5hp it kicks on when first start to work and when it builds up air and i use it and when it wants to kick back on it wont i have to wait till it cools down.

Is there an option for you to run this compressor on 220 volts vs 110 volts??? If so, you may want to convert it by following the re-wire instructions on the motor or wire access plate/instuction book. The reason your compressor won't fire up again after building pressure is the head pressure is to great at restart and 110 household current is not enough to give the power needed to turn the piston. You'll need to replace the plug and have someone run a 220 volt circuit once the conversion is completed.

I hsve a Husky 1 gallon tank 10 max psi mod # FP 202900. I was using it the otherday when it all at once started making a little noise then quit. I have unplugged it hoping it would reset, but no such...

There should be a reset button on the motor. Try that first. Otherwise, it is a bad pressure switch or internal motor problem. If resetting the motor allows the unit to start, but it just hums, shut it off right away, bleed off all pressure and try again. Let us know what happens.

I have a Husky model Y6010 air compressor.

First remove the valve using probably about a 1/2" wrench but make sure there is no pressure in the tank before you do so. check the cone and seal by loosening the valve by hand and check for debris. If there is no debris then the problem is either the pressure relief valve or weak pressure regulator but may also be a bad piston seal if it is a direct drive unit.

I have a husky compressor, model number y6010-wk. it builds pressure slow, and shuts down right away.

Problem: My compressor is not producing the air that it once did. It takes twice as long to pump up.
Solution:
1)Turn off your compressor or disconnect the power.
2)Remove the connector tube that sends air to the tank.
3)Remove the head bolts on top of the pump.
4)Remove the head off of your pump.
5)Remove the valve plate off of your pump. It may be a one piece or a 2 piece design.
6)Inspect the valve plate for broken reed valves or broken gaskets above or below the valve plate.

Husky comp on 1st start builds up 75 lbs and wont restart

Check the reset button on the motor to see if it tripped. The motor may be overheating. Some motors have an internal breaker and they have to cool off before they restart. Also check the pressure switch. Move the switch back and forth ( on and off ) and listen for a click. If it doesn't click with low to no air pressure then the switch is bad.
