SOURCE: Nikon 6006 has stickey shutter. can i fix it?

I would suggest strongly that you don't attempt this. There are still lots independent camera repair people around that can do this work. It requires resetting the light meter and shutter after the shutter service and without the proper tools you'll just ruin the camera. I've seen camera service/repair auctioned on e-Bay for under $100.00 some exotic makes will go higher but the Nikon FA I'd say would go in the $130.00 range. You could also do a Google search for a repair depot, you may be surprised to find someone local to do it as well.

Sb800 firing without pressing shutter release

sounds like a short in one of the circuit boards, most likely one or seveal of the ribbons and boards will need to be replaced to correct the problem. Send in for repair expect to pay up to $200 for a Nikon factory overhaul

Red hand blinks on screen upper right side. how do i deleet this problem. nikon coolpix 7500.

The red hand icon flashing shows that the camera is using a slow shutter speed, and is a warning to be careful to hold the camera steady.

You could put the flash in auto mode and it will fire when the light is low.

Nikon EM (1979?) Won't wind film, photos don't come out

Not necessarily. The EM has an M90 setting which will fire the shutter at 1/90th of a second. The meter is inactive on this setting. It was put on the EM so that if the batteries fail, you can shoot at 1/90th and take a guess at the exposure. There is also a small button (blue or chrome, depending on the production run) which lights up a red LED if the batteries are good. The light meter doesn't work until the frame counter is at 1 or higher. Before the #1, the shutter will always fire at 1/2000th of a second to speed up the film loading process. You can tell that the meter is working by observing the meter's scale/needle on the inside of the viewfinder. If it is pointing out of the red zone, it's OK to shoot (proper exposure). If the needle is in the red zone (indicating under or over exposure) the camera will "beep" as an audible warning. Check the battery condition first.

Nikon FE

TRy firing the camera in the M90 setting. If it fires properly, use the battery test switch. If the battery LED doesn't light up, replace the batteries (2 MS76 type). The FE requires healthy batteries to operate the shutter. If the meter is calling for a slow shutter speed (low light or lens cap still on?). If the batteries are good, but the shutter still won't fire normally in sufficient light, looks like you're in for a repair shop visit.

Will not auto focus

"... Autofocus Lock ("AF-L"). Pressing the AF-L (Autofocus Lock) button enables the Nikon F4 to lock the focus. Simultaneous lock of AF-L and AE-L is possible. "'FREEZE FOCUS" - is another great function in the F4. It allows automatic shutter release when subject enters a pre focused distance - available with Nikon MF-23 and/or the 250 exp. MF-24 Multi-Control Back. i.e. with the shutter button fully depressed, the shutter is automatically fired when a subject comes into a preset manually focused position. This function is recommended for sports races because the racing course is usually known beforehand. It also works well in wildlife remote control photography, scientific, forensic and other technical photography. ..."
