could be timming off does it take a couple cranks to start thats indication of it also could be an ignition or possibly starter spring check for a starter fuse first but replacement starter and time to change it only take bout 20 mins at most 3 wires and cant put them on wrong post

GM cars have bad problem with security system. If you key turn light and will start other time will stick and need shaking to turn over and won't start just replace the key. Security system need some times to refresh the memory.
1.turn key ON for 10min.
2.turn key OFF 10sec.
3.turn ON 10min.
4.turn OFF 10sec.
5.turn ON 10min.
turn OFF ON and start
total of 30 min. to refresh the memory
the next step is more expensive and need some skills.
on top of the ignition switch is a sensor go bad
replace ignition switch with the sensor and do the learning process from step 1 to 5

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid, usually cheapest and easiest to replace the starter and solenoid as a unit. It is always best to check for power between the solenoid and the starter with a test light, if the solenoid clicks but the test light doesn't light up you have found the problem in the solenoid.

SOURCE: pontiac grand prix 2003 has trouble starting

you have a bad battery, if it more than three years old it is suspect, measure voltage it should read 12.5v minimum, if not trash it and install a new one. but also it could be as simple as very corrosion on the cables and post, if they look dirty, clean up with a wire brush real good and tighten it down firmly. Batteries are designed that if you lost you alternator and are just running on battery power and the car finnally gives up, if you wait another an hour, it has a reserve capacity that will allow you a couple more miles usually. i was stranded in the desert one time in the middle of nowhere 60 miles from home and used this technique, i had to do it three times before i got home but then that thrashes the battery and you'll have to replace it. Make sure that your belt is not loose and that its charging up the battery as you drive. You can also check this my monitoring your analog gauge to see if its on the plus side, if you don't have this gauge, then just use a voltmeter and check it while running, it should be around 13v, if its charging the battery.
can you rate this. thanks!

Car starts sounding like it has fuel starvation spuddering

Sounds like the vent on your gas cap is blocked.
The next time it dies, try opening the gas cap and listen for a sound like air escaping. If you hear this, it should start right back up again.

If I'm right, you just need to replace the fuel cap ($5 at any gas station or auto parts store) and you'll be good as new.

91 Accord Car will initially start then when driving it will die sometimes starts right away sometimes 10 or 20 minutes later but has gotten more frequent about dying and taking longer to start

I have a 1991 honda accord dx that had the same problem. while driving it would just completely shut down. after about 5 minutes it start and run for a while then shut down again getting more frequently. There was a recall on the ignition control module (ignitor) which is in the distributor. call your local honda dealer with your vin # and will tell you if yours was replaced. If not I bought one from parts store for $60 or you could take a chance and buy one from a junk yard. I bought the whole distributor for $20 as a back up.
