I recently purchased a store demo Cougar HOTAS USB system and have found that the TQS does not function correctly. Hooked the system to my ol' Compaq (PIII 1GHz, 516MB, 400MB FSB, WIN XP) and installed the HOTAS and Foxy software then ran the firmware update on the FLCS (with TQS disconnected). The TQS in off position is "full afterburner". 1/2 inch up from that is "0 power". Throttle full forward is "3/4 power". Most buttons on both sticks are not functional. Joystick calibrates fine. Have not tried programming yet, figured I would get help first. Any thoughts, suggestions, or solutions?

The oven can be set to operate in a demo (eg in a retail
store) mode. In this mode the oven does not actually heat
If the oven has been inadvertently supplied in this mode.
The following instructions demonstrate how to exit this mode.
1. Ensure the oven is in the off state. Press and hold the +
button until a beep sounds. The 'Demo' text will begin
2. While holding the + button turn the function selector to
the first oven function until another beep is heard.
3. Then turn the function selector to the 'off' position.
4. Release the + button.
5. Toggle and hold the temperature selector to the right (+)
until 3 beeps sound.
The 'Demo' text will no longer be lit and the oven will
function normally. If the 'Demo' test is still present then
repeat the above procedure.
The demo mode Kindle Fire HD's are just that, they cannot be restored to a standard unit. The firmware is very restricted and although it is functional and wi-fi is available it is basically not fit for Normal purpose. With a functional Wi-Fi, Amazon can register such a unit to you which would allow you to make use of the Amazon marketplace. The function of registering is one of those not available in the demo unit. Contact Amazon, they're more than helpful, The registering to you is achieved remotely and at least makes the unit functional as to purchasing apps/games/films etc.
If you are just attaching a drive you had the answer is probably that your drive is set to be "Cable select" Most USB connections require that PATA drives be set to Master to function properly. If the drive is a SATA drive or purchased as a whole unit let me know and we can figure out other options.
Hi, W/D here. Check the brushes first. Demo's get pilfered for small items, and the brushes may have been 'misplaced'. If they're there, then trace your wiring through the switch. Best regards, --W/D--

So we have two problems one your sound is not working and two your usb drive is not detecting any connected devices, correct?
Starting with the sound simply use a friends computer to burn the audio driver onto a cd. Next install the driver on your machine.
Problem two the usb. Remove the flash drive and try plugging in any other usb device such as a printer or camer or cell phone and see if windows says found new hardware. You don't need to install it this will simply tell you if your usb port is functioning or has a problem. if you do get a found new hardware message then your usb port is functioning and may only have a problem seeing your flash drive. Try uninstalling the usb port in System Properties. Right click on My Computer then left click on Properties. Now click on the Hardware tab. Now click on Device manager. Now go to the bottom where the usb devices are and uninstall all usb devices and when your done restart the machine. See if you can use your flash drive now. Other wise check your bios settings for the usb devices to see that they are infact set correctly and if you cant do this take it to your local pc repair shop and they can do this for you.
Hope this helps.
There are PCMCIA adapters (roughly same size as a credit-card)
that can be purchased, to add USB or FireWire ports to your system.
Search for 'USB' and 'PCMCIA' on a "big-box" store's web-site,
e.g., FutureShop or BestBuy or OfficeDepot or ...
