Power shortage with new djm-600 US model used in UK

Hi

i have just purchased from a US seller a brand new DJM-600 mixer. Upon plugging in the power cord to an adapter (universal) the power light flashed and failed to switch on. The power cord appeared to be a polarised alternating current line plug (one side larger than the other) so not sure if this has caused the device to short circuit somehow?

Can you advise on how to rectify this or if it seems to be a more serious problem?

Thanks

Thanks Akira. Had eventually discovered the voltage difference was the problem. If anyone else purchases a US appliance and intends to use it anywhere else in the world that uses 230V power outlets, they need a step down transformer to convert the power from their power socket 230V back down to 110V. The mixer is currently in for repairs - it will either be the fuse or the power supply that has been blown. Hopefully the former.

hey iv got the same prblem with my djm 600. it wont turn on, yet theres power goin thru n past the fuse. Any idea which would have been the next component that would have been fried thus breaking the circuit? Were you able to find the problem?

How much did this cost you to repair in the end, and where did you go (London?)?

Have done the same thing to my Japanese DJM600, absolutely gutted, got the cables mixed up and killed it.

Don't have a solution but my 600 was plugged in and the power was intermittent when looked at more closely the + & - were loose in the plug and i think it has shorted i used a multimeter to check the path from plug to initial internal fuse but it was fine, any idea which would have been the next component that would have been fried thus breaking the circuit?

If it is a grounded power cord make sure the voltage is correct some are 115v and others are 220 also some have switch to select voltage plus there is two fuses on that particular model check both and replace with same volt and amperage if it does'nt work reply back to me!

I have a djm 400 and it has started producing a buzzing sound through the speakers. I can take the same speaker cables from the djm 400 and hook them up to my backup mixer and the buzzing goes away. What...

Since it works with your other mixer, the DJM400 is probably fine. You have a ground loop.

Make sure ALL, and I do mean ALL... (re-read that if there is any confusion) interconnected equipment WILL BE powered from the same receptacle or source. If speakers or amps are powered from one place and the DJM is from the other end of the room you likely have a ground loop and you can ex[ect buzzing. Run extension cords alongside the audio leads if necessaryy to carry power from where the amps or speakers are plugged in back to the DJM400 and ANY pther connected equipment.
