Hi

The volume can be increased by two ways:

You need to rotate MULTI-CONTROL to adjust the AV (Audio and Video) volume.

Also you can touch the keys in the following order in Top Menu; Settings ➔ Navi Settings ➔ Sound Settings and then touch or drag the slider.

First, do you hear beeps when you press a selection on the screen? If yes, then your speaker is OK and the audio circuits are OK in the unit. Make sure that you have a voice selected in the voice menu. Some units have an audio mixer screen and provide different volume settings for navigation (voice) and system (beeps). maybe the volume for the voice (navigation) is set to off. If you don't hear any beeps when you touch the screen AND you don't hear a voice, make sure that the sound isn't set to be muted. If the sound isn't muted, you may have a defective speaker. The things you'd want to check first are:
1. the volume of your speaker is not turned off ...
2. your GPS (navigation) software supports voice navigation - directions /commands ...
3. you have (installed & selected) a navigation voice (e.g. standard or computer voice)
4. you have done a "reboot" ... or "hard reset" ... to start the software up again.
If all of these are OK ... and you previously had heard navigation voice on your GPS ... but suddenly, there's no more navigation voice, then it is possible that the navigation software (voice portion) got corrupted. If that's the case, you would want to try to restore your software from backup (using HOME), or download a copy of the navigation software from TomTom.com (for your device type/class) and install it.

Bad charger - not powerful enough, Use a Gomadic charger with tip # 24. Works for me.

No voice during navigation

Have you tried to reset everything to Factory state? Both GPS and System? If it doesn't help then restore Sanyo map software from supplied DVD. Something must be missing or corrupted.
