Panasonic Hi-speed scanner

Hello,

I just cleaned my scanner and I am still getting an error reading:
"Open door, remove paper from scanner".
There is definitely no paper or debris in scanner. Do I have a bad sensor?

I have the same problem. Cleaned it a number of times. Sometimes after opening and closing the door 10 times or so, it will come back online.

If your positive there is no paper and you have unplugged, you can take canned air and spay it out otherwise you have a bad sensor

Panasonic Hi-speed scanner

I am not sure if you have the manual for it so here it is just in case.
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KVS2026C.PDF
Since there are many steps to opening it to clean, the problem may be reassembling it. You can also unplug it and leave it off for 30 minutes to reset its internal memory. You can also press Start and hold it for 5 sec and do the same with the menu button. If after trying this, your machine does not reset, let me know.

Hi,

To resolve paper jam issue, follow the steps
1. Open the rear access door.
2. Remove any bits of paper stuck.
3. Clean the rollers using lint free cloth ( upward position )
4. Close the rear access door
5. Open the front panel door
6. Check for any paper stuck between the rollers.
After doing all these steps, to make sure if your printer is working fine, try to make a copy.

Paper jam, but no paper in the machine

This one is easy, its yoru exit sensor, the only sensor in the scanner "looking" up, so dust sits on it untill it thinks its paper. slide in a cotton bud or blow air in the small recess between the 2 black exit rollers visable where the paper exits from.

let me know how you get on.

The ready/error indicator is red... the error message with (ID:3009) keeps coming up "paper exixts in scanner yet. please open the door and remove the paper." and there is no paper in the scanner and i...

hi....
I have this same problem every time.....first unplug it.....I use a clean cloth that is soaked in Rubbing Alcohol (not nail polish remover, but pure rubbing alcohol). I basically open up the back, and clean each roller. There are two green tabs at the top of the back of the scanner. These need to be opened up (be careful, because the parts sort of fall out if you're not careful, and they are difficult to re-assemble).

Again, wipe everything down with the rubbing alcohol. Close up the upper tabs. Make sure you wipe down the glass slits on both the door (front-of-the-page scanning port) and on the unit itsel (back-of-the-page scanning port). Before you close up the back door, let it sit for about 5 minutes, allowing the rubbing alcohol to evaporate.

THAT DAM RED LIGHT THAT WON'T GO AWAY ON THE SCANNER

Most often this is due to a dirty sensor or reflector. dust will often build up over time and cause poor sensor readings and thus a red error light. There are four paper sensor sets on this scanner. Cleaning each of the sensors with canned-air should resolve this issue.
  1. the small black rectangle that is set down inot the paper-feed tray - this is the paper sensor.
  2. whe you open the scanner (like you would to clear a paper jam), on the part of the scanner that swings open and just above the two white plastic rollers, you will see another small black rectangle that has two "eyes" - this is the wait sensor. the wait sensor meets up with a shiny reflector when the door is closed; this reflector is just behind the large rubber roller on the base of the scanner - it may also build a layer of dust and need to be cleaned.
  3. a little further down on the open door, below the wait sensor is the start sensor, and it's reflector is on the base of the scanner just below the second set of small rubber rollers.
  4. the ending sensor is a little harder to get to. if you look into the area where the paper exits the scanner, you will see two blck rubber rollers - between these rollers you will see a "notch" - at the bottom of the notch is the reflector and just above is the ending sensor. this is the most likely cause of your troubles and usually a few strong blasts from the canned air will take care of it. If the reflector is real dirty, you can take a cotton swab and a few drops of rubbing alcohol and work it around in that area.
This is one of the most common scanner-error questions I get! I hope my wording is clear and helps you resolve this problem!

Papper jam.

There should be a door on the back of your printer, scanner, copier. Open that door and see if you have a paper jame there.

Remove paper from scanner

I have this same problem every time I unplug my Panasonic KV-2026C. I've lost the original disk with the utilities, and the Panasonic web site says, they only provide the disk with the original equipment. You know, I'll never buy another Panasonic product. But I'm usually able to get the ready light to come back on by doing the following. I use a clean cloth that is soaked in Rubbing Alcohol (not nail polish remover, but pure rubbing alcohol). I also connect the scanner to the laptop and get the "blip" sound from Windows to recognize the scanner. I don't know if that's important or not. Then I say a healthy prayer, plug it back in and shut the back door. If there is a god on duty that day, the ready light comes on, and stays on as long as I have the power connected. I just went through the process and it worked!!!! The minute the power is off, the error light stays on. Good luck, my friends! Joe Diehl, Seattle WA

Persistant error: "Document remains in scanner. Open door and remove document."

I get calls about this all the time. The most common reason for this is the shiny reflector for the Ending Sensor is dirty. It is best to clean this with a cotton swab and a few drops of rubbing alcohol.
Although it is possible that one of the sensors has gone bad. The Panasonic User utility is very basic, but if you have access to the Service Utility it will help pin-point which sensor is causing the problem.
Out of all the calls I've taken relating to this same issue, only two or three situations have been resolved by replacing the sensor - all the rest have just been dirty.
