    1) Inserted Battery. Polarity is correct.

    2) Connected smaller end of USB cable to mini-USB port on the player.

    3) Connected larger end of USB cable to USB port on computer.

    4) NOTHING happens. i.e. the unit does not power up.

    5) Tried another USB port on the computer with the same result.

I have an RCA mp3/video player and it takes about 5 minutes (if at all) to connect to my pc. Occasionally the mp3 players screen will blank out and the computer will make the 'disconnected' sound, and then come right back on, with the resulting sound. it's very annoying and when i try to open the folder to access my music it takes so long i fell asleep waiting for it. wtf?

My problem is identical to the point that my mp3 player wont show up when connected by USB cord to a computer. The other problem is that it does not appear on other computers that I connect to by USB (I have tested two different USB cords, it cant be them) neither.

The mp3 player will not play when I attempt to start it by pressing the start button. It could be batteries, but there should be sufficient battery level i think, and the mp3 player is as well loaded with battery by connecting USB to a computer.

I am worried since there are valuable data, pictures and textfiles on the player that I really need, (if the player at least would start lika an ordinary player I could at least tell its working, but since it does not start, I don't know what is wrong).

I would love to get some help in how to recover data from my mp3 player, are there experts that can somehow recover, at least the memory from the mp3 player. It would be so much appreciated I cant describe how happy I would be.

    Other Information> My mp3 player is a IAUDIO with a "flash memory{flash drive thingie}", I think it's called, but I'm uncertain.

The problem occured when I attempted to put a song on my mp3-player while it was connected by USB to computer (It worked then). The icon just disipeared all of a sudden. Then the icon for my mp3 player appeared again. I attempted to transfer the song a second time when it again disapeared, and reoccured again, I made a third attempt:The mp3 player said that the file existed and asked if I wanted to copy it over and stuff , in the belief that the file was corrupted (thats a 10 mb mp3-song, it cant be transfered in the blink of a second to the player, so I asked to write over the file that had the same name, then, as I did that, the icon for the mp3 player dissipeared. This time it never came back. I tried to reconnect my USB cord, I tried to re-start the computer and stuff, but it would never find my mp3-player!! What is wrong!?!, I removed all stuff that could be the cause for the player-icon the blink away, but it never would reappear. When I disconnected the Mp3 player and tried to start the player to play the music on it and to see if the song made it to the player it simply would not start!!!! ((I have more music on the player, of course, and the others where always working before, I once had a player with corrupted music files on it but usually I could at least play the files that where not corrupted))

Please Help me, what should I do to atleast recover and save the files that where on the mp3 player before I attempted to put this song on it!! It would be great if we also could make the player work again. But TOP PRIORITY for me is to SAVE THE FILES from it!!

Thank you for reading this, I hope you can help me! :)

Hello

Check the connections on both ends to make sure they are attached securely. If the MP3 player is still not recognized, go into the player settings and change the Online Device from Media Device to USB Disk. Use a different USB cord if you have one because it could be broken and not allowing your computer to recognize it.

connect the device to a different USB port on your computer. If the MP3 player is still not charging, plug it into a wall charger. Try charging the Coby device overnight. If it still will not charge, the battery may be bad and you'll need to contact Coby for assistance

Please provide more information on the error message.

You can use Windows Explorer to transfer files to your insignia sport player. First, in the settings on your player, go to Settings, USB Mode, Connection Type and select File & Folder. Then, plug your player in to your USB cable. Windows XP should automatically find your player and make a new drive letter in Windows Explorer. Simply drag and drop your mp3 files from your c drive to the new drive for your player. You'll notice that when you delete the files on your new drive for your player that it doesnt remove them from your player. You'll need to use your player (settings, system, erase internal) to erase internal (and external), but after that when you add new files, they will be added to the player when it does the profiling after you disconnect the USB cable.
