The problem is with the orifice leading to the burner. If it is not centred then you will get yellow flame. Or you are impeding the flow out of the burner and it is not mixing properley. I would pull the burners apart and make sure everything is clear and the orifice is centred.

How do I adjust the flame on a MGC5430 gas cooktop? Flames are too yellow and cause black soot on bottom of pans. Doesn't seem to have an air shutter adjustment

Is this unit set up for natural gas or propane? New stoves usually come with ORIFACES for both gasses. They would install between the on/off knob and the burner tube under the stove top. They may be tapped to the under burner area of your stove. If you lift your top stove cover you may find them. If you don't find them, you may need to purchase the correct applications for your stove. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

LP gas stove top . burners want turn down to low. Only medium and high flame work on burners.

Has this just recently happened? Check the knobs aren't cracked sometimes the brass spindle inside the knob is not gripping to turn it right down, also check your l p gas pressure it should be 2.75 kpa.
if the flames are big and yellow it's getting too much gas, not enough air.

Black smoke coming from oven while preheating

If you are getting soot residue, it could be a number of things, First, is this a natural gas or propane oven? If you bought an oven to be used for propane, it may need to be converted from natural gas to propane or it will soot everything up. 2nd, have you recently spilled food/liquid onto the oven burner? If the burner holes are partially plugged, the remaining holes will burn large yellow flames and soot up the oven. Check the burner flames, they should be mostly blue with little to no yellow tips. Also make sure the oven burner flames are not too big. They should never exceed the width of the flame spreader pan directly above the burner, in fact they should be less than half the width. You could also have other issues like improper air shutter adjustment to the oven burner or very low regulator pressure, but most likely it has just been spilled on recently.

Just put in a new Caldera LPGas cooktop the flame is yellow and putting soot on pots how can I adjust air to correct this?

you stove may have jets for natural gas rather than bottled gas the calorific value of natural gas is different to propane and the jets are larger because of this. if using bottled gas then you will get yellow flame and soot because there is too much gas to burn properly check your installation manual for procedure to change the jets for each gas

I have a new gas hob which is making the bottom of my pans black like soot?

You must have an improper air/gas ratio. To adjust the shutters you simply open or close them a hair till you get a beautiful blue flame. Improper flame is yellow, good flame is blue. 9916a1c.jpgThis gas conversion training manual shows where to adjust

Gas Hob Flame

Hello
Tha sounds to me like the air mixture nedds to be adjusted on the stove, It's not difficult to do, just rotate it until the flames loose the yellow or your pans will be stained with soot.
The should be by the fittings (convertion fittings), you know?
LP Gas to Natural Gas or Natural Gas to LP Gas.
Hope this help

Creda 4 burner, converted to LP

Your flame is perfect if it's just the very tip that is yellow or white. All burners should be adjusted this way, on highest flame.
