Question about Lands Phones

2 Answers

A couple of things re our MLX key sys...

1) We have a Lucent MLX Key System and need a manual to see if we can reprogram our conf room phone so it doesn't ring busy everytime. Been like that for ages. (Driving us all crazy running from the conf room to the front ofc to grab the calls!) FYI, we can make calls outbound, no prob.

2) Whether we can re-program, or we have to get someone in the Oakbrook, IL area to do it for us, we still need to have the phone moved from it's wallmount positon in an adjacent room, to a wall position in the conf room, about 15-20 ft away, so we can put the phone on the conf table; maybe even get a not-to-expensive conference mic for the table.

Any help on at least #1 would really be appreciated. Thanks!

Alan - 630-968-3300, 139.

I couldn't find a manual for you to download but I did find a company which appears to have everything you asked for. They even have the manual ($160).  So check it out and then let me know if it solves your problem.  Also need to know the exact phone model.

I am taking this problem with caution as you never said what model # your Lucent product is. I found some manuals that I hope can help.
http://www.baker.k12.or.us/technology/phones/mlx_user_guide.pdf
http://www.atelephonesystem.com/Manuals_Legend.htm
An easy way to re-rout your phone is obtaining a extension phone cord that will reach your room. The other option is to hire someone to install the line through your wall to the other room. If none of these manuals are of help, please list your model # and I will look it up for you.

How do I enable caller ID on a Lucent MLX 10DP phone system?

The CID comes from the trunk card and cabinet. It's probably a Legend or a Magix system. If you don't have the proper hardware, you need to order and program it.

Your best bet is to call your AT&T/Avaya/Lucent installer and check with them as it's beyond the scope of a free forum to give exact instructions.

Need Lucent MLX-20L Manual

Every single manual is avalable from the Avaya website. The cabinet in the back room is either off-white or gray metal. If it's an off-white one, it's probably a Legend. If it's gray metal, it's a Magix. The manuals are HUGE. Most of my customers have an 8 1/2 x 11 Administrator's guide, and a little spiral bound set user's guides, both for the console and the MLX-28DP phones.

Search around your place and see if someone has one squirreled away.

I can't change from night service to normal service

Are the keys not working? These phones have a common problem with the keypad locking up. If so, the keyboard membrane would need to be replaced. Temperature and humidity effects this problem greatly. You could try putting the phone in a freezer for a few hours to see if you can temporarily get the buttons working to put your system back into day mode. You will still need to get the phone repaired.

MLX-28D Corded Phone Change Time

The time is stored on the phone system, not the phone. You first need to know which phone system you have. This phone will work on a few different Avaya phone systems (AT&T and Lucent are now Avaya)

You can find all the manuals for free at www.avaya.com but you first need to know which system you have.
