Question about KitchenAid KUDS30FXSS Builtin Dishwasher
I just moved into a new house where the KUDS30FXSS is installed. I tried to use it for the first time today, and it isn't working. The dishwasher turns on and sounds like the cycle is starting, but then there are a few clicks and the drain/cancel button lights up. Any idea what's wrong? This is a brand new dishwasher.
Press the Cancel/ Drain cycle for a few seconds. The dishwasher should reset itself. See if this makes any difference. Also first turn the mains power to dishwasher off and back on.

Probably a keypad gone bad. Try replacing the keypad.
There is a troubleshooting guide behind the foot kick panel. It gives a sequence to test for a bad keypad. You can try that sequence to be sure.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid double-drawer dishwasher will not start
i just installed a used dishwasher. It filled up with water then stopped. The lights are still on as far as the cycles but nothing is happening. I did the factory diagnostic test and the service diagnostic test, not sure how long each test was supposed to take because after it seemed to go through each cycle by the lights on the front nothing else happened. I waited over 30minutes because I didn't know how long this was going to take. When all the lights on the front went out I tried to turn it on like to run a wash cycle and nothing is happening and the bottom is still full on water. HELP!!

SOURCE: dishwasher doesn't drain completely after full cycle
If there is any blockage in your diposal, water will comes up to the sink, since it happened to me. As soon I installed the air gap then it fixed the problem. No air gap, water flowing is slowing down conflicting with timed draining causing this problem. Let's think of this, if you fill up water in a 1/2 galon milk container, and you try to emty it. If you pull down straightly , it will be slow compared to pull it at an agle to let air going into the opening. The air vent helps water flow better meeting the timed draining.
