Core2 processors work fine with windows 7/8/10. You don’t need drivers for a processor. Are you talking about the motherboard? Drivers are available on the manufacturers website.
Either google it or try sourceforge.
Old hardware is hard to find drivers for now as many of the vendors no longer support them.
Try going directly to the intel support website rather than trying to use windows rubbish update. It’s a shame your not closer as I’m normally pretty good at tracking down anything and everything online.
Another tip.
Depending what operating system your using. Some will already have the correct drivers to install. Windows 7. 8.1 and 10 especially. The core 2 duo cpu was mainly associated with Windows XP’ and vista machines. So maybe if you have access to them. Try another O.S. I would however stress 8.1 and 10 could put a lot of load on an old cpu. So try 7 first if you can. Sorry I can’t help any further
