Do you have back light when turning on the TV? if you do then just replace the main board should resolve the problem. if you do not have back light, you will need to replace the inverter board(s) depending on your model. The inverter board(s) is located on the left side of the TV facing back of TV. you may have two inverter boards depending on your model. the other is located on the right side of the TV. Both mount vertically.

    Hi Dave,
there are three types of inverter for your model. The inverter is based on your serial number. you can go to vizparts.com or vancebaldwin.com and get the parts. It cost about $149. Make sure when you order the part that you tell them your serial number so that they could get you the correct part.

Tech Guy-925 Hi Dave,

I have a Vizio VW37L hdtv20a. My kids use it for there Xbox360 and they leave it on all the time with the blue screen showing for hrs at a time. So when they told me it does work anymore I thought they finally burnt the mainboard or powersupply. I have the same issue with the Vizio going from Amber to White with no picture/sound just black screen and the side control panel to select power and menu does not work also.
My Solution:
1) I tried to hold the power button down while pluging it back in and waiting for the screen to change to blue and it but it when back off and did not turn back on using the power button or remote.
2) I used the remote this time holding down the power button on the remote and plugging in the TV. I held the button down until the Vizio lite went from Amber to White to Amber again. I let the power button go and pressed it again and the TV came on and the side control panel works also. I turned the TV on/off a few times using the remote and side control panel and all seems fine now.

Thanks,
Tech Guy-925

55in. was on and screen just went black along with sound

I had this problem with VT470M and the white light would come on but the screen would freeze on opening screen and then after a couple times the white vizio light would come on but no picture no sound. I ordered a new main board after troubleshooting all the voltages and it worked. Vizparts.com trade in for 150.00. Well worth it. Have you fixed this problem yet?

No power on vizio E371VL

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

VIZIO TV Black screen. Cannot turn off TV without unplugging.

I had a similar problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. I didnt hear an arcing sound though. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound. I would check the ceramic fuse first on the board that gets power from the plug.

HOW I FIXED MINE: I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine.I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

My vizio vx32L turns on but only a black screen shows up

It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

Vizio wont turn on!!

I have this problem. Bought at Costco. Called them and was transferred to Vizio. TV still under warranty, so they are supposed to get me another TV. Mine is only a little over a year old. The one they are giving me is NOT new, but refurbished. I'm not happy about this, but what can I do? Apparently, this IS a KNOWN problem.

No Screen or sound

there are two possibilities to this problem. First and cheapest way is to replace the main board. Second, replace the inverter board. This is the boards that are mounted vertically on both sides of the TV.

Vizio P50HDM No Picture/No Sound

this is most likely the sustainer board(s) problem. Replacing the sustainer boards should correct this problem for you. you can get the parts at vancebaldwin.com
