I have X7DBE MB with a graphic card ZOTAK GT218IONGPU-A-E (I don't use the internal card). When I configured the adaptec RAID (0) with 2 HDD's and rebooted the system and after the fans reduced their speed, the only thing I saw was a DOS blinking cursor on the left and that's all. When I removed the graphic card and used the internal the system continued booting. Is there a conflict on the addresses or IRQ? What's the reason and how can it be solve? I saw "Known Limitations" that says: The ASR-2405 and ASR-2045 do not support the SuperMicro X7DBE. motherboard. Adaptec recommends using the SuperMicro X7DBE+. Is there a connection?
SOURCE: Hi,
there will be no dos prompt on a machine with a newer version of windows. if you have wndows 2000 or later, you can use the windows disk to repair the boot sector.

I have 3 of these boards; however, they all have the Nocona Xeon with a Front Side Bus speed of 800MHz. The manual does not say anything about using a 533fsb. A second thought was if your power supply is an ATX with a 24 pin power connector and two +12 connectors one 8 pin and one 4 pin? The manual states all three need to be connected for the Xeon Processor.
SOURCE: Hello, I have buy a Supermicro
I dont have specific info on this board, but most of the time you may need to set up a jumper to support 2 cpu's or with the 1 installed go into bios and see if there is a setting there that you can set. Another possibility may be the other chip is bad...swap the 2 out to see if it works...then you can rule that out...go to www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/5500/MNL-1060.pdf...this is the manual for it...
