My panasonic lumix dmc-f3 shuts itself down when I take a video/photo and doesn't save them. it will say "Read Error" and shut off. It has an SD card in it and I have a feeling it may be the SD card..
I press the shutter and it says "Read Error" and turns itself off.

Make sure you are not using an incompatible card like a SDHC card which looks identical. If the F3 can use those cards, make sure you format it in the menu system. If it still fails, try another card, it may be bad. Remove the card and do a short recording to internal memory to check system, if it is capable.
You really can't. You can copy images on your computer to an SD Card and then insert the SD Card back into the camera. But, doing this after editing could mean that you will not be able to see those images on the camera anyway.
First : is it the same to other SD Card?If yes thenSecond: is it happened to other SD Card?if the second answer is YES -> it might be the I/O part of the camera but if the second answer is NO -> try to re format that SD Card it might contained a faulty fat (file alocation table)I hope it help
I don't have a Lumix but most phones have a setting of where you want your photos to be stored. If you can get to your settings menu and then look up your storage options, maek sure you have the SD card selected as where you want the photos to be saved.
Are you formatting the card in the camera as you're supposed to? Have you tried going into the menu and finding "reset" and followed the on-screen instructions? Do you have photos on the internal memory? If so, remove your card and format the camera to erase the memory.
Use your USB cable or a Card Reader. Read your manual to insert Date on pictures. Note date will show on pic and cannot be removed.
Best idea is to downloand you pics asap and change each pic file name to embed date taken in filename, not on the pic itself.
I recomment the San Disk MobileMate SD+ miniature Card Reader for SD and MicroSD card reading. Just a little larger than a Flash Thumb Drive. Saves lugging around a USB camera cable and saves your camera power otherwise needed to power a download via a USB cable. About $15 at RadioShack, Staples, etc retail stores selling cameras.
