SOURCE: Playback & Ejection Problem
Hi, You usually get an EJECT TAPE when the camcorder has found an internal problem and either the videocassette or the camera itself has developed a problem. In you case, it looks like you tape has a problem. Daniel

We get the eject message and then it will not eject tape. Any suggestions

Try a different tape in case the take up isn't working in the previous tape.
Clean the tape heads with a tape cleaner in case there is buildup on the pinch rollers causing the tape to jam or slip.
If those solutions don't work, you should take it into a repair shop to have a closeup view as to what the problem is unless you see something obvious like a spring broken or loose or a bent piece or foriegn objects in the deck.
SOURCE: 5 Grey Horizontal Lines across the screen during play back and distorted sound.
Someone here recommended on another post to put the lense cap on & videotape the blackness in a quiet room for 5-10 mins. I tried this as a last resort & it worked. When I played back the tape, no more skipping or gray lines. I had 4-5 SOLID gray lines with skipping video & audio in between on every tape I put in. I think the person who helped me solve this said that it was a result of the tape alignment going off. My camera is a Canon zr80 digital camcorder. (Called Canon, they had me reset it & then recommended sending it in).
