Temperature gauge The smoker is 4 months old and still heats up, but it doesn't show the correct temperature on the digital readout like it used too. Is it covered up or does it need a new one? Where would we find this at?

I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre limited it has a digital and a regular dash heating gauge the digital gauge runs around 220 225 the regular gauge doesn't get past the halfway mark which gauge is accurate

Page 150 onwards of the owner manual covers the heating.

The digital gauge is giving the temperature of the coolant in the block. The normal, standard analogue gauge have the optimum at halfway and overheating is shown as being above that.

Page 133 and 134 in this manual show the standard temperature gauge. 160 shows Climate Controls in this one.

I couldn't get the temperature to regulate. The digital readout showed it getting hotter and hotter, then the GFCI would blow. I finally got it to work but I don't know how I did it. The next day I tried...

I answer quite a few questions about Traeger Pellet Grill/Smokers, but this is a new one. My best advice is to contact Traeger's Technical Support Dept @ (800) 872-3437 and let them sort it out.

Upon start up the digital readout shows EAAR and its not heating up

Sounds like the control unit is malfunctioning, possibly the circut board in the controller.
You can try a full reset. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the outlet completely, wait for a minute or 2 so the controller can power down completely.
If you get the same result when you plug it in and try again you might need to replace the controller.

Digital readout says eaaf

The unit will not turn on if the internal temp sensor is below 40 degrees. Warm it with a hot rag or hair dryer, or bring the unit inside to warm up and it will turn on. Once the unit turns on for a minute or so, it will work fine outside.

This isn't the ideal solution, but it will work. I don't know why they don't want the smoker to turn on when it is cold out (unless they are worried that the quick change in temp will damage the heating coil).

Masterbuilt Smoker Model 20070108 Digitial Controller not working. Worked the first time, then no power. I hear a beep when I plug it in, but no display.

I had the same problem this morning. I seasoned it two days agao with an outside temp. of 50. This morning it was 8 degrees and when I pluged it in there was no readout. I removed the digital unit from the top and heated it with a hair drier and it worked when I reinstalled it. I think it had some moisture in it although the unit has been covered the whole time. I am going to call Masterbuilt tomarrow and see what their answer is to this problem.

Very slow getting heat up to preset temp

Remove the back sheet metal cover and check to see if the wire connections to the element are good ad tight with no corrosion, if burnt or corroded there is too much resistance and the element will not heat up fast as it should and will very soon not heat up at all.

Won't heat

I have the same smoker with the same problem. I checked the heat element with an ohm meter, it was good so just cleaned the burnt residue from the male spade connectors attached to the element with a dremel tool. Slipped two new female spade connectors over the ones on the element and soldered them with the wires attached with a 1/16' silver bearing electronics solder. Now the connections cannot become loose and burn up again. I tested everything out and then wrapped the exposed connectores with non conductive fiberglass electrical tape and covered everything with expanding foam that comes in a spray can. Easy fix for me after reading all the posts from you guys here. Good luck and go for it! All I had to buy was the foam insulation.
