Dbc 600bc How can I get to the motor for the grinder? I know parts aren't available, but I might be able to repair the motor since I used to work in a motor rewind shop.

We have a "Back to Basics 4500" meat grinder that

The problem is due to the gears that have been damaged and if not then is the motor, many times the first problem leads to the second and the manufacture does not give any of the motor replacing parts only the extrenal parts which you find at the link Also here is the manual of your grinder at which you can remove all external parts and try to rotate the motor forward or reverse if not any reactions then we sugest for a replacement apliance.

I have an old Craftsman bench grinder that I got at an auction. I need a capacitor and the one on it has no markings. It is a 1hp model 319.19063. Sears Parts direct says that it is no longer available and...

this is a "Split-Phase"motor it uses only a run capacitor and a typical capacitance rated MFD rating will be between 80 and 290 MFD, go to www. grainger..com and they will have your part, and even if its an older unit and the model/serial/number is available take it with you & they will have a replacement capacitor available in the correct size/dimension/mfd/etc

The grinder just stopped working

They are very simple inside, the only serviceable parts: if its not a switch/connection it is the motor brushes. Or the motor is defective.

It would only be the motor brushes if you had been using it for a longtime before and they wore down.

If it is new, return it for warranty exchange.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

If you still have manual call service number, if still under warrenty they will ship you new one for shipping charge. You can try to pry it out, this sometimes works, if you get it out put some veg oil on shaft where basket slides on.
