SOURCE: PS2 hook-up
I would suggest to feed video from another source such as DVD or VCR to the same input, if the video is visible from other sources on your TV; that means the video cable from your PS2 is defective. If you did not see any video from the DVD or VCR nor the PS2, it means that there maybe a loose connection inside the TV on the video input.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: TV does not recognize PS2 input
On the TV you should have a video, input or mode button. If you press that button while the PS2 is on it should pickup the signal. You need to be in video mode instead of cable mode since you are using the red, yellow, white cables. Many TVs have a few video modes so press it wait a few seconds and try again if it does not work. Hope this helps:)
SOURCE: Unusable Signal for PS2
If you want to use a PS2 with an RCA stereo monitor Colortrak plus television, folllow these steps:
1.Buy a universal remote compatible with RCA televisions if you don't have the original.
2.If your remote needs programming, program it with the manual provided.
3.Goto Menu
4.Goto Alarm
5.Goto Alarm Channel
6.Set Alarm Channel to 00
7.Exit Menu
8.Goto channel 00 on the television by using the remote.
9.You should be in AV mode, and able to play your PS2.
P.S. I don't know if you need to set Alarm Channel to 00, but that's how i did it.
SOURCE: Just need to know where to plug in the red, green and blue cords
The red-blue-green outputs of the cable box are COMPONENT video, and the yellow-white-red inputs on the tv are COMPOSITE video. Although the words sound almost alike and the connectors look similar, they are incompatible signals. You'll need to change either the cable box or the tv so they match. Maybe this would be a good way to rationalize getting that new home theater system! Or maybe call your tv cable company and ask for a different box with composite video output. Once the cable box matches the tv, you don't necessarily need to change the cables. If the connectors fit, go ahead and use the cables you have.
