SOURCE: The vacuum is stuck with the handle at about a 40

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the cleaner won't return to the upright position after use, it may be because the valve carriage has become misaligned. This is easy to rectify - please see the video guide from our Support page:

    http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1376&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US

You should be able to recline your DC07 easily into the vacuuming position by placing a foot on the cleaner head and lowering the handle. The user guide supplied with your cleaner demonstrates how to do this - in case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

Following the steps shown in the video should resolve your issue. However, if you have any further concerns, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can run through some troubleshooting checks over the phone with you, and provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

SOURCE: red lever to release canister

      Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC16. If the bin-base release trigger seems to be jammed, separate the clear bin from the cyclone assembly, then reassemble, making sure you have both parts correctly aligned. For guidance on doing this, please refer to the user guide supplied with the machine. If you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

      http://media.dyson.com/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/dc16_uk_manual_120710.pdf

When both parts are correctly aligned, the trigger should move freely and open the bin-base. However, if you're unable to resolve the issue, please get in touch with us directly by calling free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide further assistance.

      Kind regards,

      Jack

Dyson upright cylinder stuck wont release to empty unit

I have had this happen to me (DC14 Animal). This was my experience:

If you have recently had the motor filter (the "permanent" one under the dust container, right on top of the motor) out and have replaced it, it is important to make sure that the filter cover is down properly, otherwise the canister will not release.

I got the dust container off by pushing it downwards, quite hard before pressing the release button. You really will have to push straight down on it quite hard. Then investigate why the dust container is so high that it will not release.

Yello steam mop does not make steam

The release lever is held in place by tabs molded into the base. You just need use a screwdriver or two to press the plastic tabs back and then push the release lever out. The new release lever can be just pushed into place and the plastic tabs will snap and hold it in place.

      Shark s3601a no steam

Don't you have to push down on the handle while mopping the floor to get the steam to release. I know the one I have has a handle that slides down the shaft in forward mopping motion which releases the steam.

There are 2 tabs on the bottom front edge of the switch plate which slide under the metal top cover. Make sure these tabs have not gotten bent upward so they will not slide under the top cover. If they are bent, simply pry them open. Also, note that the handle pivot has a sliding latch on it to allow the handle to be fully lowered. To lower the handle flat, push the little knob inward.

I'm trying to get my S7000 Miele to stand upright an lock in this position. It wont , i tried to see if foot release was jammed but cant tell it doesnt seem to release to let it move upright an lock in...

There is a rear dust cover that sometimes gets stuck, this will make it almost impossible to lock the handle up. First locate the cover which is at the rear right above the wheels. It's about 2"x8" and ribbed vertically and slides up behind the rear panel of the lower body. If it's in there and stuck, just realign it with the 2 grooves on each side or remove it completely; it is a dust shield after all. The best fix is to replace the rear panel and dust shield and they are ordered together and the cost is fairly low. Also check the alignment of the rear body panel at the bottom There are 2 tabs that protrude down about and inch on each side, the one closest to the handle release lever sometimes gets bent and causes the unit to jam. If this does not help there is one more solution involving the rear wheel assembly. check to see that the rear wheel axel is straight, meaning both wheels are parallel at all times while releasing the handle. If the axel is crooked, the wheel assembly must be replaced and you should have a Miele service center order the part and do it for you.

How do I get the hose off to clean furniture?

Just above the power button is the purple, ribbed section that pushes in for releasing the hose. You press in and lift to release the entire hose assembly. You then pull the hose down to separate it from the handle. Push in purple button at end of hose section to separate the two sections. Now just flip over the wand and attach to opening at top of handle by sliding into the round, vented purple cap until you hear a click. That's it! Now you can use as is or connect your attachments if you have them. Hope this helped!

How do you cheng the filter

The Sebo X1 has 2 filters. Both should be changed once for every 20 bag changes. The long cylindrical filter in the bag compartment just slides out to the front - grab the little handle at the bottom and pull forwards - it can be a bit stuck, so you may need to lever it out with a screwdriver or similar. When you put the new one in, make sure you push the little metal lever back up behind it (this is just a simple device to prevent you from shutting the bag compartment when there's no filter present).
To find the second filter, release the foot pedal and lie the handle flat on the floor. This exposes a square panel with lots of small holes in it. Release that panel by squeezing the clip, lift it off and pull the foam filter out. Just drop the new one in and replace the cover, pushing it until it clicks into place. Job done!

When I push the button to release steam on the handle it feels soft and no steam is released. It has been going out for a while now.

I didn't fix the problem but I did take the handle apart. There is a little metal piston that is pushed down by the button on the outside of the handle. It was very sticky and stuck in the off mode. I freed it when I took it apart but obviously it just stuck again. I am going to take the handle apart and see if a little WD40 will make it easier to push. Either that or glue it in the "on" position. I really love this appliance and if I can't fix it, I'll probably just buy something similar.

HOW DO i CLEAN MAIN TUBE IN HANDLE CLOGED

You'll have to unpick or slide up the rubber rings on the back of the handle at the bottom where the rear of the bag is. Unclip the bag so that it moves freely, slide up the rubber rings and you'll find a series of pop locks. Push these in to take out the main dust spine pipe - also remove the power cord at the top of the handle to release the handle. In the middle of the spine there is one screw that bonds the top handle part to the spine, unscrew this so that you can split the two parts up and check for clogs. Also check the main dust channel that leads to the bag - it is notorious for clogging because of its relatively small dust channel.
