Question about Sony KV-36FS16 36" TV

2 Answers

Lines I have a Sony tube 36"tv. I think it is kv100. Recently I noticed flickering horizontal lines mainly at the bottom of the screen but moving to the middle. It seems to get better if I unplug the set and plug it in again. It does it on both sat and dvd inputs.Any Ideas? Thanks

Well, oddly enough, I unplugged my Onkyo receiver and left it off all day and when I got home, the TV was working fine!

It has played all weekend with all the peripherals plugged in and working. Could it have been some sort of power thing with the receiver???

    Thanks for the comments

Thin white horizontal lines!!! I've had my WEGA KE-42M1 for 5 years with no problems until about three months ago. After about an hour being on, there are thin white horizontal lines that move randomly...

Sounds like your TV is giving out, plain and simple.

If this doesn't sound right, then only one thing comes to mind. Have you moved the TV recently? Are you using a different coax cable, (if using cable that is). If so, just change the cable back to the previous one and you should be fine.

36 Inch Toshiba - Single Bright Horizontal Line

You're losing your horizontal voltage that drives the fly back transformer. Poking around inside can be hazardous to your health since you have to worry about high voltages present on the picture tube even when the TV is off. You may still be able to get parts for those old TV's but they may hard to find. You can try here, but if you have no background in TV repair, it will be pointless.

Video flickering

Horizontal lines are either caused by the main logic board, a dammaged screen or by the main x and y drivers. Hard to determine which one it is, but somthing is getting hot which is causing the problem. My guess is the main logic board.
